I believe that those leaders who watch the crime without moving a muscle are just as criminals as Al-Asad and his gang, the Arab league's attitude is very shameful, everyone let syrians to face this merciless power alone...But Allah almighty is with them, and they will get over all this insha'Allah...May Allah grant them victory over Al-Asad and his gang!

There's something worse that sitting back and doing nothing, using their veto's Russia and China have actively prevented the UN from doing anything about it. In the cruelest of ironies, Russia suggests the protestors should be the ones to renounce violence and negotiate. Apparently to them people's lives are a small price to pay for having a navel base in the area and making money off the sale of weapons to the regime.

I figure the least I can do is read the articles and watch the video's some of you have provided here. May this sick regime fall quickly.

I didn't realize how long this has been going on for, although I can't say I'm surprised. I'm not a praying person, some Buddhists are, some aren't. But all Buddhists send metta (loving kindness, compassion), so that is what I will do for the people in Syria going through this turmoil. I hope that the situation reaches a speedy conclusion, and that the Syrian people enjoy more freedom because of it, that the lives lost in protest to this cruel regime were not lost in vain.

The sad thing this is not only Russia or China but this includes the US, the rest of the "civilized world" and the Arab governments who don't view the situation from a moral human perspective but from the perspective of interests that come before humanity.
