CBS did not do the survey! Read the article:

Here are the results of a sweeping survey of historians, political scientists and presidential scholars maintained by Siena College Research Institute. Since 1982, SCRI has ranked presidents across 20 categories, ranging from integrity to executive ability.

Here's who actually did it: American Presidents: Greatest and Worst – Siena College Research Institute

But I do admit I'm a little surprised Trump rated only 3rd worst president the US has ever seen, but it was done in June of '22, so now maybe with his 91 felony charges and 4 indictments, plus convicted as being a rapist since the survey was done, they might put him dead last, which is where I believe he rightly belongs. Certainly after he is convicted and put into prison, that should put him at the anus end of America presidents.
Yeah, I suspect that after the inumerable court cases are done, history will put him at the bottom -- or perhaps even lower, if they can think of a way to do that.

Take a tip from the Pharaohs of old? Let his name be stricken from all written records and his existence blotted out from all memory? He who shall not be named... :)

So they just cherry picked the survey and opined based upon it. That doesn't make it better, but worse. And I suspect Siena is funded by dubious source to which it is beholden.

Oh yes, they are funded by Putin, of course. :)

Considering that George W. Bush launched two wars and left the US in a state of major recession, I don't know why he's rated higher than Trump.
They gave him the benefit of the doubt. The text says that he started the wars on "mistaken belief" - instead of blatant lies.
In my view it makes him worse than Trump, who managed to not start any new wars and prepared the ending of one.

Just what it says. What do you think?

They rank Biden a 19th, slightly above average. Reagan at 18. Clinton at 14 and Obama at 11.

I think most people don't have a full understanding of the history, and so rank the more recent Presidents either much higher or much lower, when in the big picture they are more middling.
Opinions are like ***holes, everyone has one.
