Well, the law DOES save more people than it kills.

Debatable, even if we were to accept the notion that a fetus or embryo is a person.

But it does say something about your callous attitude toward pregnant people if your reaction to people dying is "meh - we don't need to tweak the law to make it work better."

And exceptions for the life of the pregnant person aren't even about those who the anti-choice movement typically villainizes. These are usually pregnancies that are very much wanted. It's generally heartbreaking for these people to find out that they won't be able to have a baby, followed by panic when they learn that their pregnancy is about to kill them unless there's medical intervention.

This is one issue where anti-choicers have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't realize that they're just kicking people - many of whom are on their side - at the lowest point in their lives. It's despicable. Evil.

I wish there would be one doctor who dares threat a pregant woman who is in need of care but not on the edge of death just so he can dare paxton to prosecute. And if paxton does the case can be broadcast for all Texans to see for themselves what these right wing extremists are doing to their citizens. It's obviously dying pregnant women isn't enough to make republcians feel pity and empathy, so what will? Maybe wasting money on prosecutions will do it. Maybe medical personel leaving Texas and their hospitals unable to treat those in need, even if not pregnant.

It seems to the only way to persuade a MAGA is when they personally feel some consequence. They aren't able to understand moral dilemma in an abstract form, it needs to hurt them personally.

It's giving a voice to a human being inside their mother.

Evangelicals just happen to be among the few in addition to abortion survivors who are actually willing to support that voice, and to make a recognition that , past a yet to be determined point, that it is no longer just a woman's body , and is in fact a human being inside another human being.

If they actually gave a damn about kids, they would ensure they don't go hungry, recieve healthcare and quality education (including no science or history denial, and no religious indoctrination) support bans on child marriage instead of opposing them, and stop relaxing labor laws that protect them from being exploited. The list goes on.

Not voting for a mentally unstable criminal was my solution. A small majority of voters showed irrational contempt for a stable government and voted for Trump. Economists and investors are predicting a bad recession. I’m listening to another podcast tight now, and they are laying out the evidence.

Credit card and mortgage defaults are rising. Insurance rates and taxes are increasing. The stress on the middle class is getting worse due to costs other than the global inflation that caused financial hardship.

What Trump is saying will increase that financial stress and the expectations is higher unemployment, lower consumer spending, and more defaults. Can you remember Trump saying anything about helping prop up the middle class?
