"" لا الہ الا اللہ محمد رسول اللہ
[la elaha illallaho muhammadur rasulUllah]

(There is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger). This is the essence of the entire Holy Qur’an and the fact is that all teachings and all higher objectives as accessed with Unity of God. Similarly mutual connections of people and man’s connection with God also come under Unity of God and Unity of God cannot be made evident without the help of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) and this is the reason لا الہ الا اللہ is followed by محمدرسول اللہ .

One Who is worthy of worship or God can only be found through the help of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). That is, he alone is the means through which the True God can be seen and when help is sought from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) then one sees the subject of لا الہ الا اللہ evident everywhere [in the Qur’an] from Surah Al Fatihah to Surah Al Nas.

It was indeed the blessed person of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) who established true Unity of God in the world as some among the earlier people had made Ezra son of God while some had made Jesus son of God while others worshipped angels. It was the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) who removed all the corruption and it was him who was raised by God to establish Unity of God and with the grace of God it was established through him......""

"" There is one thing in which there can be no change: لا الہ الا اللہ محمد رسول اللہ [There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Muhammad is His Messenger] . This is the essence and the rest are its details. Unity of God cannot be accomplished until one observes one’s worship of God. This signifies that one who utters لا الہ الا اللہ محمد رسول اللہ is true in his utterance when he proves through his practice that for him there is none other than Allah Who is worthy of worship, worthy of being intended and being sought. When his faith and practice make this evident then he is truthful before God Almighty when he makes this utterance. Borne of his faith, all material things become inconsequential for him and he utters لا الہ الا اللہ [There is none worthy of worship but Allah] and its second part محمد رسول اللہ [Muhammad is His Messenger] which is by way of example because example and illustration makes things clearer. Prophets of God (peace be on them all) come as examples and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was the most perfect example of all excellences because in him were the examples of all the Prophets.....................................It is the Holy Qur’an alone that affects the human heart, providing it is followed in what is its obvious and significant connotation. And its models can be seen in every age as they are even today. The Holy Qur’an has stated: ‘…If you love Allah, follow me: then will Allah love you…’ (3:32) Perfect obedience of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) takes one to the stage of being beloved of God which signifies that he was the perfect example of being موحد [believer of Unity of God] .""

"" When we look further back in history we find that the entire life of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was a period of enmity shown by his opponents. What sort of life did his beloved wife [Khadija] who was a very wealthy business woman and one of the riches people of Makkah spend after becoming a Muslim! She was made homeless in her old age and spent a long time in a valley in exile where there was lack of food and basic provisions and the time spent there caused her eventual passing away. This is what she endured for Islam in the hope that the sacrifices carried Divine promises. The Holy Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be on him) also endured severe harassment and persecution. The thirteen years of his Makkan life were spent in constant discrimination which he faced with great courage and valour. When he was asked to pray against someone he would pray for their guidance and when he was pelted with stones and ended up soaked in blood due to injuries on a day he called the worst day of his life, God asked if his enemies should be destroyed, he asked for them to be spared just in case in future people are born among them who accept Islam. After migration to Medina wars started which entail a long tale of attacks and patience and steadfastness. Apart from the excellent models of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) his Companions also showed amazing fortitude because they had set their sights on Divine promises.""

After understanding, the love of God is much needed for salvation. Love attracts love. Heart affects heart. The Prophets of God love humanity and are kind to them even more than mother. They bear pain for the goodness of people. Pious people get attracted to them. God the exalted is Knower of all unseen. He knows who loves Him. Love of God is an amazing fire, it burns fire of sins. With true, personal and perfect love, chastisement cannot exist. One of the signs of true love is that one is always anxious about not to lose connection with beloved. Such a one is always concerned about meeting the beloved and almost dies with separation. That is why, one does not consider those matters as sins, which common people regard as sin, such as murder, fornication, theft, false testimony etc. According to them, a little inclination towards others than God is great sin therefore such a person continues to say ‘istighfar’ [seeking cover] in the Presence of his Beloved God. Those who have pure and perfect connection with God the Exalted always say ‘Istighfar’ as the true devotee is always afraid not to lose his Beloved. Such a devotee is always thirsty to seek pleasure of God the Exalted; a spring of love surge to seek God’s pleasure.

Therefore abundance of love of God, leads a devotee to say more ‘Istighfar’ that is why those who love God continue to say ‘Istighfar’; it is the sign of a pure person.

‘Istighfar’ truly means to seek help of God to avoid any possible mistake or error which a human can potentially do due to human-weakness so that by the grace of God, such weakness does not get materialize.

Next to it, there is greater meaning of ‘Istighfar’ for common people. According to it, if an error has been committed, may God save the person from its bad results and poisonous effects.

The true source of salvation is personal love for God the Exalted and humble prayers and eternal ‘Istighfar’ attracts love of God. When a devotee perfects his love and burns his low desires then suddenly love of God falls like a flame upon his heart and grant him cleansing from earthly life and he gets the colour of attributes of God – The Haye [Ever Alive] and Qaiyoom [Self Sustaining]. Then he becomes a manifestation of divine illustrations [metaphorically].

Due to humbleness, no Prophet ever, claimed to be free of weakness [even though they best worshiped God, best preached, best paid human rights] ; they continued to say ‘Istighfar’. Holy Prophet (peace and blessing of Allah be on him) stated that he says ‘Istighfar’ 70 times a day. Prophet Moses (on whom be peace) cries in Torah, remembering his weaknesses. Prophet Jesus (on whom be peace: who is falsely considers associate of God by some), when called, O righteous Teacher, he replied why he was called righteous, only righteous is God.

All beloveds of God always said ‘Istighfar’ except Satan.

DawudTalut,
Can you explain this to me? You say that the love of God is an amazing fire, it burns the fire of sins. Yet you say that 'one does not consider those matters as sins, which common people regard as sin, such as murder, fornication, theft, false testimony etc.'
What do you mean? These sins are so abominable to God that they are inscribed on tablets of stone and delivered by Moses to his people.

Jesus said that you cannot really love God, UNLESS you love your neighbour as well.(Matthew 25:34-40)

And by the way, his statement that the 'only righteous is God' is a challenge. In other words, he was looking the man in the eye and saying DO YOU BELIEVE I AM GOD?! Jesus did not say, I am not good. In the teaching of scripture, Jesus Christ on earth was BOTH human and divine.

1- As you try to find meanings from [though wrongly] from the statement of Prophet Jesus (on whom be peace) - the servant of One and only God, you could have well understood my humble words too.

2- Please consider my words which I quote again:
" One of the signs of true love is that one is always anxious about not to lose connection with beloved. "

Obviously these sins are established sin in Holy Quran too, many verses states so e.g, [https://www.alislam.org/quran/search2/showChapter.php?ch=25&verse=64]........

All I meant that the people who are at advanced stage, do not consider these obvious sins THE ONLY SINS, they go deeper AND TO THEM A LITTLE DEVIATION FROM UNITY OF GOD (OVERT OR COVERT) IS GREATER SIN. eg.

[Holy Quran ch31:v14] And (remember) when Luqman said to his son while exhorting him, ‘O my dear son! associate not partners with Allah. Surely, associating partners (with God) is a grievous wrong.’

As you said for Jesus (a.s.), " In other words,..." You could have understood my statement too.

[Remember this is not debate section, keeping in view your vain attacks on Islam in other places]

Good wishes.

"" Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

The Lord has decreed that you worship none save Him alone, and behave beneficently towards parents. If either or both of them should attain old age while you are alive, say not `ugh' to them, nor chide them, and speak kindly to them. Lower to them the wing of humility out of tenderness and pray: Lord have mercy upon them as they brought me up when I was little. (17:25)
These verses are most significant on this subject. After the unity of God, human beings should, through their attitude of love, affection, and kindness, give priority over all other things to their parents who have reached an old and difficult age.
Further, the verses speak of the situations when the behaviour of one or both of the parents becomes extremely trying and sometimes offensive. In response to that, not even a mild expression of disgust or disapproval should pass one's lips. On the contrary they should be treated with profound respect.

Importance of Parents

(a) Hadhrat Abu Umamah narrated that once a man asked the Holy Prophet (saw) about the rights of parents upon their children. He replied that: `The parents are the Heaven or Hell for their children.'
(b) Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Amr narrates that the Holy Prophet (saw) said: `The pleasure of Allah lies in the pleasure of father and displeasure of Allah lies in the displeasure of father.'

(c) Once a person came to Holy Prophet (saw) and sought his advice about taking part in Jihad with him. The Holy Prophet (saw) asked him whether his mother was alive? He answered `yes'. The Holy Prophet (saw) then told him `Go back home and server her as Heaven was under her feet'.

(d) Hadhrat Abu Hurairah narrates: The Holy Prophet (saw) cursed the person three times whose old parents (both or one) were alive and he still did not earn Heaven (by serving them).

Rewards for Serving Parents

Holy Prophet (saw) once told a very interesting anecdote to his companions about three persons. According to him, the three persons were once traveling when heavy rains began to fall. They took shelter in a cave. Incidentally, a big stone came hurtling down and blocked the opening of the cave. All the three travellers lost the hope of their survival. One of them told the rest not to lose hope and pray to Almighty Allah, by describing the most virtuous deed of their lives, for enabling them to get out of the cave.
One of them addressing Almighty Allah, submitted that he had old parents and several small children. When he would come back home after grazing the goats he would first offer the milk to his old parents and then to his children. Once when he came home quite late, his parents were asleep. He milked the goats as usual and taking the cup of milk went to his old parents, but did not disturb their sleep. The whole night he stood near his parents (to give them milk whenever they get up). He prayed to Allah to enable them to come out of the cave. Allah was pleased with the act of this man and the stone moved a little. Similarly, after the other two related their tales, the stone was fully moved and they were able to come out of the cave.

Nice Behaviour with Parents

Once Hadhrat Abdullah-Bin-Masood asked the Holy Prophet (saw) to tell him the deed liked by Almighty Allah. The Holy Prophet (saw) replied. `To offer prayers in time.' He asked him to tell the second best. He was told `to behave nicely with parents'.
Conduct of Hadhrat Abu Hurairah with his mother: Once Marwan appointed Hadhrat Abu Hurairah to officiate him for some days in his absence. At that time he was in ZUL Hulaifah and his mother was living in another house at some distance from him. Whenever Abu Hurairah went out he would first come to the house of his mother and say `My dear mother peace be upon you and may Allah be merciful to you.' The mother would reply, `My dear son, peace be upon you too and may Allah be kind and merciful to you.' He would say, `May Allah be kind to you as you have been kind to me in my childhood.' She would reply, `My dear son, may Allah be kind to you as you are kind to me now in my old age.'

"...The essence of Islamic teachings is that you must spread peace, to the extent that the Holy Prophet sa has defined a Muslim as a person from whose hand and tongue all other peaceful people are safe. As I have already said, Islam has taught that you must never assist in cruelty or oppression. It is this beautiful and wise teaching that leads a true Muslim to hold a position of honour and dignity within whichever country he lives. There is no doubt that all sincere and decent people would wish to have such peaceful and considerate people within their societies.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad sa has given Muslims another beautiful teaching to live their lives by. He taught that a true believer should always search for anything that is good and pure. He taught that wherever a Muslim comes across a word of wisdom
or anything noble, he should treat it as his personal inheritance. Thus, with the same determination that a person seeks to acquire his rightful inheritance, Muslims are taught they should strive to obtain and benefit from wise counsel and goodness wherever it may be found. At a time when there are so many concerns about the integration of immigrants, what a beautiful and perfect guiding principle this is................""

" The true purpose of Ramadhan, as of all forms of Islamic worship is to draw people closer to Allah. Though normal pursuits and occupations are carried on as usual, the emphasis on moral and spiritual values and concentration on them are intensified, and everything is subordinated to the main purpose. The hearing, the sight, the tongue, the mind are all under stricter control. For instance, not only vain talk, but much talk is also eschewed, so that there should be greater concentration on remembrance of Allah and reflection upon His attributes. The Holy Prophet said: `He who abstains from food and drink during the period of the fast but does not restrain himself from uttering a falsehood starves himself to no purpose.' It is related of him that during Ramadhan, his own concern for and care of the poor, the needy, the sick and the orphan was intensified manifold, and that his charity knew no limit.
....
....
It must never be overlooked that the whole of fasting, whether obligatory, as during the month of Ramadhan, or voluntary, as at other times, is to promote righteousness, which means the progressive cultivation of spiritual values. The same applies when the fast is observed as an expiation or a penalty. The spiritual recompense of proper observation of the fast is high indeed. The Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, has said:

`There are appropriate spiritual rewards for all worship and righteous action; the ultimate reward of the person who observes the fast solely for winning the pleasure of Allah is Allah Himself.'

....
....

The day following the last day of Ramadhan, determined as above, is observed as the Festival of the termination of the fast. It is one of those occasions when even a voluntary fast may not be observed. In conformity with the spirit of Islam, the only celebration prescribed for the Festival is an additional service during the forenoon comprising two raka'as and an address by the Imam. The service may be held in one of the bigger mosques of a large city, but in view of the large numbers involved, is generally held in the open. It is customary, following the example of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to take a light breakfast after sunrise before setting out for the service, and also to vary the route home on returning from the service.

The festive character of the occasion is proclaimed through exchange of visits, feeding the poor, visiting the sick and glorification of Allah and celebrating His praise in thankfulness to Him for the guidance provided by Him, particularly with regard to all that pertains to the observance of the fast, and for having enabled those upon whom the fast was obligatory to observe it duly."

"" “O ye who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may guard against evil.” (Al Quran 2:184)

Talking about this verse, in the Friday sermon of June 10, 1983 Khalifatul Masih IV, Hadhrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad said, “In this verse ْكُمِلْقَب نِم ‘those before you’ implies that there is no religion in which fasting was not prescribed, and this is mentioned and recorded in historical records. Therefore, Encyclopedia Britannica writes that all the religions of the world mention fasting. There is not even one religion that is without the concept of fasting. Even though such a research is easy in this day and age as the historical records are freely available in the book form. But when this verse was revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad, he did not have any access to the information about majority of the world’s religions. Therefore, the first issue that this verse diverts our attention to is that what a marvelous prophet and what a spectacular book is being revealed to him, that he makes a claim about the whole world, a claim for which there is no apparently logical secular reason present; yet, he with great confidence makes an assertion and it is proven to be true over time. So, what the man of this age is finding to be the case after major academic pursuits had been revealed 1400 years ago.”1""

Hadith on Behaviour Toward Others

The Ahmadiyya Gazette, July - December 1993

(1) Narrated Abu Musa: The Holy Prophet (pboh) said: A faithful believer to another faithful believer is like a building whose different parts strengthen each other.

(2) Narrated Abdullah bin Umar: Allah's Apostle said: A Muslim is a brother of a brother Muslim, so he should not oppress him nor should he hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfills the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever saves his brother from one calamity, Allah will save him from one of the calamities of the Day of Resurrection and whoever shades a Muslim, Allah will shade him on the Day of Resurrection.

(3) Narrated Abu Huraira: The Holy Prophet (pboh) said: Whoever has wronged another person concerning his reputation or anything else, he should ask him to forgive him before the Day of Resurrection when there will be no money (to compensate for wrong deeds) but his good deeds will be taken away from him for the oppression which he has done. Abu Hurairah relates that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Allah says: Whoever is at enmity with one whom I befriend should beware of having to do battle with Me. When a servant of Mine seeks to approach Me through that which I like best out of what I have made obligatory upon him, and continues to advance towards Me by dint of voluntary effort beyond that prescribed then I begin to love him. When I love him I become his ears by which he hears, and his eyes with which he sees, and his hands with which he grasps, and his feet with which he walks. When he asks Me I bestow upon him and when he seeks My protection I protect him. (Bokhari)

Anas relates that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: Allah says: When a servant of Mine advances towards Me a foot, I advance towards him a yard, and when he advances towards Me a yard, I advance toward him the length of his arms spread out. When he comes to Me walking, I go to him running. (Bokhari)

Ayesha relates: the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, stood so long during his voluntary Prayer at night that the skin of his feet would crack; so I said to him: Messenger of Allah, why do you stand so long in Prayer when Allah has suppressed in you in the past and for the future all inclinations towards sin? He answered: Then should I not wish to be a grateful servant of Allah? (Bokhari and Muslim)

THE PROPHET'S PURITY OF MIND AND CLEANLINESS OF BODY

It is related of the Holy Prophet that his speech was always pure and that he was (unlike most of his contemporaries) not given to the use of oaths (Tirmidhi). This was something exceptional for an Arab. We do not imply that the Arabs at the time of the Holy Prophet habitually indulged in foul language, but there is no doubt that they were in the habit of punctuating their speech with a generous measure of oaths, a habit that persists among them even to this day. The Holy
Prophet, however, held the name of God in such reverence that he never uttered it without full justification. He was very particular, even punctilious, with regard to physical cleanliness. He used to brush his teeth several times a day and was so keen on the practice that he used to say that were he not afraid that the ordinance might prove onerous, he would make it obligatory upon every Muslim to brush his teeth before every one of the five daily prayers. He always washed his hands before and after each meal and, after eating anything that had been cooked, he always rinsed his mouth and considered it desirable that every person who had eaten anything
cooked should rinse his mouth before joining in any of the prayers (Bukhari)......."

Sayings of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him):
"Abdullah ibn Mas'ud relates that the Holy Prophet used to supplicate: Allah, I beg of Thee guidance, and righteousness and chastity and self-sufficience (Muslim).

Sufyan ibn Abdullah relates: I asked the Messenger of Allah: Tell me something about Islam which should enable me to dispense with having to ask anyone else. He said: Affirm: I believe in Allah; and then be steadfast (Muslim).

Hazrat Anas (ra) narrates: The Holy Prophet, may peace and blessings of Allah be on him, said: A person would relish the sweetness and joy of Eiman (Faith) if he possesses three things. First, he loves Allah and His Messenger more than anyone else. Second, he loves others only for the sake of Allah. Third, after relinquishing unbelief with the help of Allah, he hates to return to unbelief as much as he hates to be thrown into fire. (Bukhari Kitab ul Eeman - Baab Hilawa Tul Eeman) "
