This thread is about if it is better to have it stopped compared to have it legalized. It does not matter in this discussion how or what happens in the process of having it stopped or having it legalized, the thread is only about knowing which conclusion of the two case scenarios members believe would give a generally and over all better results.

My vote means that I believe if it is stopped, things over all and in general would be better to the people and community than if it was legalized. I'm not thinking of how right now or that I actually want it to stop. I mean, I'm a healthy man and the existence of prostitution is actually in my favor (generally speaking. I wouldn't go for it).

I know it will never stop. Nothing similar can really be stopped in this life, but this does not mean we can't try to stop it or minimize it if we believe it would give better results. I mean, even it if gets legalized, do you think it will be completely legalized? No, of course not. So using that it can never be stopped as an argument and at the same time voting for "legalizing it", sounds like a double standard to me. The vote alone without that argument I do respect tho.

I think in the case of this thread people are going beyond narrowly addressing the OP because the simple either/or choice presented in the OP doesn't satisfy many people's desire to discuss the issue a bit more fully. Just a hunch.

It should be legalized. That would stop illegal prostitution. There is no way to stop it.

Legalize prostitution and overthrow the pimps. Sex workers have as much of a right to self-management as any other workers.
