Purpose of life?

Spirit of Light

Be who ever you want
If a person are a monk they live by begging for alms, but for those who are not a monk/nun then it is a bit different ofcourse, personally i live from day to day and dont worry about tomorrow. it does not mean i dont care if i live or die, it only mean i live in the moment

I think you are conflating two things here:

The meaning of life (applicable to everyone).

and

The meaning of an individual's life.
I don't happen to believe so. I don't think there is anything that can be determined to be "applicable to everyone." No matter whose perspective we look at it from, it is subjective. And I don't believe in an intelligence or consciousness directing the goings on of the universe, and therefore, there is no source to go to to request a definition of the "meaning of life (applicable to everyone)."

This is the whole debate.

Is there a meaning? An ultimate meaning for everything.

There is no purpose to life other than to reproduce. Anything else is personal choice (as, to some extent is passing on your genes). Some may want to help others (in myriad different ways) some may crave authority, some may wish to devote their life to their religious belief. It doesnt matter what it is, he ultimate goal is to continue the species.
That (pointing at some biological function of human beings) is the same as saying that the purpose of life is to defecate. Anything else is personal choice. Putting food in and having it come out the other end is the ultimate goal.

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
Eternal life would have purpose but this existence is temporal. If we were all to live forever then the purpose of life is to be perfect in all virtues, and be about improving reality.

In a meaningless reality that is only temporal, every moment is about this one life to live. The purpose of life is to achieve , and to share, and enjoy all you do with those whom love you. Being virtuous is the best way to live no matter what the situation, even in the face of death.

You defecate, that's your choice, i'll carry on my genes. Lets see whos genes last longer.

To defecate is not a purpose, its necessary.

In your view/opinion, What is life all about spiritually?
As an agnostic I don’t have any sort of mystical divine spirituality in mind; however I believe in peace and happiness and fulfillment.
How any one individual goes about gaining their own spiritual goals is up to them. Although I’d put in the caveat that you cannot harm another person or sentient being during your attainment.

As a society or species I think that people fall into one of two categories in regards to the purpose of life.

1. - There are those who maintain humanity as a whole simply by reproducing, as well as by offering services for their fellow humans (doctors, police, factory workers, teachers, farmers, etc....). These ‘keepers’ usually do not advance humanity, but do keep it from falling apart or self-destructing. Once they’ve died, humanity is still the same old same old that it was before they arrived.

2. - The second group maintains humanity just like the keepers, but also seek to advance humanity and help humanity gain more knowledge and wisdom and freedom. This group includes scientific researchers as well as some inventors; and maybe even some great teachers.

This advancement of humanity can be through scientific research and advancement of human knowledge in any one particular field or multiple fields. It can be through creating inventions that allow their fellow humans to have a better life, or greater ability in seeking knowledge and wisdom. It can even be through introducing a method of thought that replaces and/or removes earlier, more self-destructive ideas and methods in the populace.

Our only discernible goal as species is to gain more knowledge/more wisdom, and achieve a better understanding of the universe and how it exists, and even “why” it exists. We cannot do this by simply reproducing and hoping/praying ‘for the best’.
We currently do not know the “purpose of life”, but one day we might know by advancing ourselves and our body of knowledge.

This does not sound very enlightened, even

I don't know what spirituality is as far as it relates to purpose. I don't think that is possible to know if such a thing exists or not. To me life is about caring for those who share life with me and around me and experiencing life as close to reality as possible. Deciding how to live our existence is the purpose.

In your view/opinion, What is life all about spiritually?
Spiritually is advanced. Physically, the purpose of life, is to not get yourself into trouble. I think it's called keeping the 'law'. Not being 'criminal', being 'legal', etc...

Spiritually, like I said, is an advanced form of living while meeting the physical requisite, i think.

Example:

Once homeless. while homeless, the 'criminal' parts were excluded. From there, the homelessness part was excluded. From there the 'getting' into trouble part was excluded. From there spirituality, in advanced forms, can be applied. While going through this process, bills and maintenance needs weekly or monthly upkeep. From here the personal blessings received because of 'job(s)' deserving 'reward(s)', can be applied even further in Spirituality with The LORD God (J)esus Christ.

The purpose of life Spiritually, being in the place(s) where Spirituality purposes can be applied could be and is:

1. Maintenance
2. Being blessed and blessing.

3. Personal relationship which can be either #1 or #3 or any number in the Spiritual purpose.

The difficult part of this process of life in general, period, is when you go from working to meet the physical requirements, getting into the spiritual 'purposes', 'beginning to excel' beyond the contemporaries, and then 'dropping' back down to needing to get basic physical requirements again while the spiritual purposes are being 'remodeled' to fit the new tenants and new members' personal ideas and needs as to what The LORD God (J)esus Christ requires. Keep in mind that it is the Speakers in Churches which inform of what The LORD God (J)esus Christ is like or desires and for new arrivals, what they 'hear' is what they are going to 'practice' even IF what is being told in Churches is wrong. The LORD God (J)esus Christ will probably not speak to each and every individual on a one to one basis if and when they are reluctant to receive the 'already' written Word to start off from as the Foundation to their conversations and relationship.

So of course when this occurs, any person who has the Written Word as the Foundation over man's Church sermons, will be the 'excelled' persons of Faith and knowledge.

Another difficult part to have to 'live' with is when The LORD God (J)esus Christ seems to put these new 'remodeled' Church ideologies and ideas, even though they are or could be not based off the Already Written Word Foundation, first over those that do have the already Written Word as the Foundation from which they; live to provide for their physical and also to be the Foundation from which to live in their 'Spiritual Purpose'.

When this occurs, it pretty much comes down to:

'Do you believe or think that The LORD God (J)esus Christ is even real or do you think that The LORD God (J)esus Christ is a 'joke' seeing that there are persons daily living to 'mock' and mocking the already Written Word'.

Will 'They' or will 'They' not do anything; even if 'They' Are or even if 'They' are not. (Existence wise)

One other thing which is difficult to live through in the Life, both physical and Spiritual. When these 'mockers' which daily mocked get through this 'time' as if not effected due to some kind of 'Mercy' of The LORD God (J)esus Christ while those that kept the Already Written Word as the Foundation from which they live to both the physical and spiritual are less and less to be found or have found themselves in 'worse' places/situations than when they, the mockers, were daily trying to be 'minded' to 'please stop the mocking lest any harm come to you or me or to this place', began.

So remember.. Churches are the places where many go to receive word about the dangers of 'mocking' The LORD God (J)esus Christ. Those on the 'street' levels, they deal with dangers and insults that Church members rarely get to experience in their Church 'lifestyle'.

Therefore, as the already Written Word has set as a Foundation.

If you are going to 'boast'. If you 'boast'.

IF......

'Boast in The LORD God (J)esus Christ and not in 'man' or self'.

So what is 'boasting'?

Well, what do 'men' boast of and how do they 'boast' of those things? They place 'confidence' in those things which they 'boast' of and in.

So what is The LORD God (J)esus Christ BESIDES Love?

They are many many things BESIDES Love.

But remember the order. First the physical is met. Then the spiritual. Then the Blessings.

I should not 'boast' in man's idea of The LORD God (J)esus Christ's Love if I haven't supplied for my own physical needs; keeping the law, not being criminal, being legal, etc.. if I'm on the streets doing those things which should first be taken cared of so that I can 'boast' in the Love of The LORD God (J)esus Christ helping me or advancing me out of the life of 'law breaking', 'illegal activity', 'criminality'. To these 'advancements' can I boast if, IF , i boast.

If for some really odd reason this does not make 'sense' to your mind, maybe you lack in the first set of requisites that should be taken cared of; being the physical. What might you be doing on the physical level that prevents you from understanding the Spiritual level requisites?

Are you legal? Are you away from criminality? Are you keeping the 'law'? If yes to all of the above, then talking to someone about why you are not advancing would 'add' you to the list of those that are wondering why the 'righteous' are not advancing but, as it seems, only those who are daily been 'helped' to stop mocking The LORD God (J)esus Christ.

What is that 'mock'?

Like I said, have you met all the physical requirements?

Can the 'mocking' be... 'The LORD God (J)esus Christ doesn't CARE about those physical requirements but CARES more about the person while living in the lacks of those physical requirements more than trying to have them taken out of those 'lacks'?

In other words, the mock could be: 'The LORD God (J)esus Christ LOVES too much to remove a person out of the physical lacks and place them into the physical non lacks'.

This is where Proverbs 23:10 applies... "Remove not the old landmark; and enter not into the fields of the fatherless:"

Do not enter into the fields of the fatherless.. mostly 'homeless'. The fatherless fields are often times the homeless fields... Do not enter into them... But at the same time you are not entering into them, do not remove the old landmark(s) so that they, the fatherless, can be 'helped'..

Do not remove the old landmark.. What is the old landmark? 'Stay OUT'. That is the old landmark.

STAY OUT...

If this was applied to every territory where today they say that they were unfairly 'overcomed', maybe there would never have been any dialogue between the 'stranger' and the 'resident', IF the residents from the very beginning 'kept' their old landmark, which could have been 'KEEP OUT'. Otherwise, their old landmark would have been 'WELCOME'. And if their old landmark was 'WELCOME', then do not remove it.

Question...

If I was to blatantly tell you that I wanted to see you bleed and hear you scream or that I wanted to see you die or didn't care if you were killed, what would you do?

Then why do so many ask, 'What should I do', when they are confronted by real persons who have these sentiments?

and so rather than the question, 'What is the purpose of life, Spiritually', a person might ask, 'What is the purpose of life, Safely', or 'in Safety'?

And if if you do not know what the purpose of life in Safety is, ask yourself: 'Have I ever lived in that kind of 'Safe' lifestyle'?

There is another additional thing which I think occurs.

The Lifestyle of Safety with The LORD God (J)esus Christ. Is that relationship between self and The LORD God (J)esus Christ safe? Does it provide for the physical requirements as well as for the Spiritual?

This topic is and should only be discussed among those that have gotten to certain levels in their life purpose(s). How does one tell what level they are within?

Well. I guess there are time differences with each 'age' . I'm no longer 12 nor am I 65 yet. How can one say that I'm at a certain 'level' in my life in terms of 'age' or Spirituality or physicality? Easy. 1 then 2 then 3 then 4 then 5, etc... each is 'different'.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5 seems a bit offensive... How about 50, 60, 70, 80, 90.. Maybe easier to understand.

The 'children' await, LORD God (J)esus Christ! Please do not tarry lest we famish!

Did God really turn 'stone into bread'?

2:00 minutes in:..

We are the World.. We are the Children.. We are the World... We are the children... Oh how God loves me that HE turned stone into bread... We are the world... We are the Children.....

We await LORD God (J)esus Christ.. HalleluYah!

(J)esus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.... woohoo!!!

Are you meaning to tell me that there is no Church that will frown upon such things as the above video and/or song? None?

Tell me, you Gentile believer(s) who claim to know the Law. What does the Law say?

Acts 15:27-29 "We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell youthe same things by mouth. 28For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; 29That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well."

There should be no 'contentions' regarding the Law of Y'srael. There should be none.

But beware.. False sheep will enter in seeking to divide rather than unite. Be on guard therefore.

Truth is spoken. Lies are 'grabbing'.

A person confident in the Truth can walk away if not accepted and brush the dust off their 'shoes' . A person not in the Truth will seek to return again and again until chased out, like a 'wolf' seeking a docile meal.

And herein is a mystery. Although man came after wolf, it is the wolf that gets the 'blame' for man's false behaviors.

Please.. do not be so unwise as to take each 'word' I have written as if each 'word' was carefully selected.

Am I wrong for keeping the 'others' in mind also? Who are the 'others'? Those that might.

A man spoke words of Truth which 'rang' true in the hearts of some. Those 'some' wanted to learn more and more from this man. Some of the women wanted to give themselves to this man and they were willing to be mistresses unto this man.

The man could have had many mistresses. But because of the 'time/generation/era' he was living in, to do such would show 'lawlessness'. Lawlessness against the 'common Law' which was around. And so rather than have many mistresses, he began to speak those words of Truth to help these women see that a life following the 'common Law' which was around them, was another Truth to be learned and kept, if they were sincere in Truth and the keeping to It.

Why do I say the 'time/generation/era'?

Because in the years around 1848, there were men with many mistresses in the U.S. This lifestyle was known as the 'free love' movement.. And it was within these years that the Mormon Church had its beginnings.

If there is no purpose to why we are here on earth, why waste life with doing nothing?
We're here because we were born. We were born because our parents copulated. They copulated because copulation is a genetic imperative with H sap, as it is with other animals. Copulation is a genetic imperative because critters without it don't copulate, therefore die out as a species.

Nature has no intentions, so this result wasn't 'intended' but is simply a self-evident datum.

Once you're alive, and, following your instincts, have breathed, drunk, eaten, found shelter, a place in society, a livelihood and a partner, you've acted according to your evolved tendencies, and beyond that you're free to engage yourself in whatever seems important or attractive to you.

If 'spirituality' is such a topic for you, so be it.

This is the whole debate.
Is there a meaning? An ultimate meaning for everything.

I find the ultimate meaning for everything is as Jesus said that 'everlasting life means' coming to know the only true God and the one whom He sent forth: Jesus Christ. - John 17:3 - No meaning without life.

Life simply is what it is. Humans are the ones that tell stories about it and say it has "meaning." I don't know what this "spiritually" stuff is as I find tacking that term on the end a mix of redundant and non-informative.

When I think of "spiritually" stuff what is informative to me is that the Bible holds out everlasting HOPE.
Anyone, Christian or Not, can find "meaning" in life, but only the Bible gives reasons for eternal HOPE.
For the dead only a belief in the resurrection back to live life again gives HOPE.
For the living belief in the soon coming ' time of separation ' to take place on Earth gives HOPE.
Gives HOPE because at this coming time of Matthew 25:31-33,37,40 the living have the HOPE of seeing the fulfillment of Revelation 22:2 when mankind on Earth will see the return of the Genesis "Tree of Life" on Earth for the "healing " of earth's nations.

As others have said... you make your own purpose. Done deal.

The ^ above ^ makes me think that the God of the Bible made His own purpose.
I find His purpose is that humble meek people will inherit the Earth. Earth be filled with righteous people.
If you had a garden and someone interrupted you, would you say I will never go back to my garden _____.
Or, rather once the interruption was over you would go back to your garden.
God planted a garden on Earth (aka Eden) and Satan came along and threw a monkey wrench into God's garden.
God purposes to rid the Earth of weed-like people and have Jesus destroy weed-like Satan - Hebrews 2:14 B.
Thus, God's garden purpose for upright humans will be realized during Jesus' coming 1,000-year rule over Earth.
