Yes I believe there should be a separation of church and state. I don't think that any politicion should be able to force their religous belief on me. I believe all laws should be made free of religous belief.

I have no problem if a political leader adheres to whatever religion he or she chooses, so long as that does not affect his/her performance as a politician.

What do you think?

I have a problem with leaders being religious because there are just some issues that a leader will default to his churches belief not a secular one. i.e. abortion, and stem cell research.

Why do think that Atheists would always be neutral in politics? Atheists don't believe in God but surely they believe in other things. Is it you assumption that Religion-bad and Atheism-good? or Atheism-bad and religion-good? Nothing is that cut and dry.
So no, I don't think an atheist would automatically be neutral.

Er.. neutral to religious philosophy and dogma obviously. All people have their own agenda...

Well I am very glad and heartened to see 100% backing here... However the people from non-secular countries (and we know EXACTLY where they are), seem to be absent... I wonder why? (fearful of missing limbs maybe?)

Government, law and education should all be free from religion and religious interference.

Freedom of individual to follow a religion should always be the based on personal belief and personal choice. Their belief should not be enforced upon the masses, especially considering that there may be people who follow other religion or none whatsoever.
