Definitely Republican. They are not shirking their duties as elected leaders of State.

Aside from the left incessantly whining and moaning and crying over who said what who did this like little children in kindergarten, frivolously investigating this investigating that and holding their breath till their blue in the face, I haven't heard a single reasonably laid out plan as it directly relates with running the State of Affairs in line with the office they were elected for.

Nobody wants cry babies and little kids in office who simply can't grow up and are incapable of doing the job they were elected for.

You really believe all that stuff? So you prefer 1%'r policies and not 99%'r policies?

Interesting

Well one percenters are a reality that no one is going to change anytime soon if ever. It's just a matter of looking at things realistically.

You tend to have a chance at better jobs and better wages with the one percenters then you would have with the rest . Why do you think Fortune 500 companies are the most sought-after for employment and investment reasons?

Have you honestly already forgotten the multiple investigations Republicans launched during the Obama administration— all of which turned up nothing?

Have you forgotten the non-stop Republican fear-mongering and whining about how Obama’s gonna turn the US into a Muslim dictatorship?

Have you forgotten how Republicans whined that the economy was horrible and then a month after Trump got into office, with the numbers all doing the same thing, the economy was suddenly great?

Have you forgotten how the Republicans wasted time voting to repeal Obamacare over 50 time’s, knowing it would never pass, and then, couldn’t manage to do it the one time it mattered?

Have you forgotten how the the Republicans didn’t have any plan whatsoever regarding healthcare despite crying about it for 6 years?

I haven’t.

Our primaries in Arizona will be held on August 28, so I'll have a better idea of where I stand at that point. I generally like to study for the elections, read up on the candidates, research the issues - especially the ballot propositions.

The thing that really gets to me this time of year are all the campaign commercials, particularly those which are made specifically to attack a candidate, but aren't officially endorsed by any other candidate.

Our Republican primary for Senate should be interesting. The two main candidates are Kelli Ward and Martha McSally, with Joe Arpaio as a distant third. What I'm hearing is that a lot of people don't like McSally. Even those who like her politics and mostly agree with her...they just don't like her. Both Ward and McSally are also hoping to get Trump's endorsement, and a lot of Republicans are trying to "out-Trump" each other. I can sense that a lot of Republicans are under pressure to declare themselves as "pro-Trump" - or else.

The presumptive Democratic nominee for Senate is Kirsten Sinema, whose poll numbers indicate that she would likely win no matter who the Republican candidate turns out to be. However, that could change between now and November, especially once the Republicans are past their primary and they start to do their real dirty work. If McSally gets the nomination, then it's going to be a very dirty and grueling race - yet quite entertaining to watch.

That's the fun part of elections - watching the whole sordid spectacle unfold. Can't really take it too seriously, even though it is serious. But if we can't keep a sense of humor about it, we'll go insane.

I don't vote in primaries (none for Libertarians),
so I'm avoiding the drama in the other parties.
I'll take it more seriously when it's election time.

Don't expect libertarian candidates to ever win if you don't vote for them..
He does vote for them. And how do you know his voting record? Have you really had any discussions with him about how he votes? Discussed the shared experience of voting Libertarian and seeing your vote as that itty bitty flake off to the side?

The poll will be open til November. And if I did it correctly people can even change their vote. And I intend to bump this every few weeks or so. So let us know what you decide whenever you decide.

This is one of the ads that's been playing lately:

Yuck. I could half understand this in New York, and yet you never see ads like this here. What terrorist is hankering to attack Arizona?

More than fearmongering, I swear it's just coded "I'll give you all the pork you need" to your state's large military population.

But this one from Virginia is hilarious:

That was gloriously bad, in an endearing way. I'd probably vote for him.

No ad will ever be as gloriously bad as the "demon sheep" one in 2014 though, or this gem from a decade ago that nobody seems to have noticed:

Translated: "I have a family, you have a family, vote for Harper."

Definitely Democratic as as this Republican tyranny must be countered by hopefully a Democratic House. .

Yeah, it's a bit of both, I think. It seems to be working out for McSally, though. It seems Kelli Ward is slipping in the polls. It looks like it will be McSally vs. Sinema in November. Considering the nasty attack ads McSally is using against Ward, I can just imagine what she has in store for Sinema.

Arizona politics has always been like this. We're a red state, but getting somewhat purplish. But we've definitely had more than our share of colorful politicians.

And yes, we have military bases and contractors here in AZ, and this means much support for hawkish Republicans.

I'm not sure myself. Hard to tell just from the ad; I'd have to look at his record and positions on the issues.

But I will give him credit for the ad. It was bad, but then, I doubt that anyone will forget it anytime soon. That makes it a successful ad.

Politicians have to sell themselves like that. It's common for politicians to trot out their wife and kids and show themselves as "family men." A lot of people buy into that stuff. I could never understand why.

I'll pass.
I hate political ads.

Yes, I'm a hater.
Well, more of a loather.

I don't like political ads either. But if it's anything like past elections, I think we'll be inundated with them. Worse still are the telephone calls with recorded messages from the candidates.

Election season does have its downsides, and the election itself almost always turns out to be anticlimactic. That's why I try to keep a sense of humor about it all.
