Exactly what is that meant to mean? I respect your opinion, just not the blanket and misleading statement you made. It is not your opinion of Christianity that I object to - that's your business, not mine - but your attempt to lecture me on what my faith teaches when you clearly don't understand our teachings at all. Your opinions, in fact, I agree with in that they are a reasonable reaction to the premises you are working from (and this is a major reason I rejected the western Christianity I grew up with), but those premises are certainly incorrect if they do not apply to a huge (somewhere in the region of 120 million) number of Christians in the Orthodox Church and yet more in the other eastern churches. They clearly also are not accurate when describing certain western churches either.

Fair enough. But you should understand that if you make a blanket statement and are corrected and yet are still unwilling to retract or modify it, it makes you appear as though you think your understanding is correct and that you are denying that my Church teaches what I described. That looks like lecturing even if it wasn't your intent.

What did you actually mean to write here? I'm afraid that your typo has made this sentence incomprehensible.

Please don't get upset about my posts. It was not in any way my intention to anger you but I do get frustrated when I see non-Christians describing my faith in ways that bear no resemblance to reality. I will always attempt to defend my beliefs from such arguments because I'd rather people didn't get a skewed understanding of what we believe, but in no way were my posts intended to be personal.

I meant that people assuming I am "instantly" wrong, it wasn't personal either. Unfortunatly,
impressions stick in this forum. No matter what you do to prove people otherwise, you can't.
