Quirks!

I consider myself a fairly quirky person. I'm one of those messily-neat freaks. As long as things are somewhat organized, they can still be 'messy.' I find it hard to sit totally still and not be doing something---especially with my hands. I am very methodical and efficient in my daily routines, such as in taking showers, washing my face, brushing my teeth, makeup, etc.. Everything is done 'just so.' I hate sleeping in a totally dark room---always have to have a night-light or something. Also, I prefer to have music in the background when I go to bed at night. I am well-known by family and friends for having the ability to sleep anywhere, anytime. Have even fallen asleep while standing before. I actually like most bugs, reptiles, and such---when I was younger my sisters would always come screaming to me if they felt threatened by an insect. ( Was dubbed the "Cockroach Killer" once at a place I worked at, because I was the only female there that was willing to get near it and kill it---obviously I have no great affection for the cockroach variety of bug. :p ) I share someone else's love of gum ( very, very bad for me, I know! ). I am not completely ambidextrous, but as a left-hander, I was bored and taught myself to write with my right hand. That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure there are more!:D

I don't like grocery clerks or cooks who lick their fingers. It also bothers me when I'm calling on someone and they lick their fingers to turn pages of the catalog and then hand the catalog to me to look at. I have noticed that some grocery stores are now using finger moisteners. Someone else must have complained. I also love gum and double check all locks at night. Supposedly chewing gum makes you mentally sharper. There was a study done and people who chewed gum during tests, scored higher.

What are your quirks? Any intersting facts that nobody knows about you? Any strange habits?
When I was sent to Lake George with another co-worker and 6 clients, we were there for 9 days and 8 nights. My co-worker stated that she can tell when I have fallen asleep. I make a moaning sound. I have also been told by the same co-worker that I talk in my sleep. carrdero has also stated that I talk in my sleep. I won't believe them. I guess this means that carrdero will have to have proof :p .

*hides all the batteries from carrdero so he can't use a tape recorder*

Thought of a couple more.

I hate having people behind me. If I go to a restaurant, bar, or in school, etc. I will make sure I get a table near a wall so I can have my back to the wall and no one can sit behind me. In class, I always sat in the back row so no one could be behind me.

I can't drive a car. I never got my driver's liscense for cars. When I was 16 I got my motorcycle liscense but never have I done the test for a car liscence. I've just always prefered my bikes.

Lightkeeper made me think of this. I don't chew gum. I hate it. I think in my entire life, I've chewed maybe 2 pieces. People always make fun of me when offering me a piece and I refuse, telling them I don't chew gum.

Like Hope and No*s, I'm an avid reptile lover. I can't remember the last time I didn't have a snake or lizard in my company. At the moment, I've got a 5 foot Albino Burmese Python.

I like to collect things. At the moment, my biggest collections are of action figures and DVDs. The dolls range from normal sized Macfarlane action figures like the six faces of madness series, to Living Dead Dolls and even a couple of 18 inch singing dolls of Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as one of Ash from Army of Darkness who has a sensor so when you walk by he spews out lines from the movie.

I'm addicted to Pepsi. I drink so much during the day, it's ridiculous, but it has to be Pepsi, Coke just won't do.

I have an addictive personality. As independant as I am, I tend to become addicted to substances and end up completely dependant on them quite often.

I hate shopping for clothes. I will go out and spend 200$ in an hour on DVDs and toys, but try and get me to shop for clothes and it'll take me 8 hours to buy one pair of pants. I still have clothes that I wear from when I was in highschool. Except kicks, I buy at least one pair of 300$ skate shoes every four months, even though I still wear the previous ones. I've got at least 10 pairs that I still wear at the moment.

I'm sure I'll think of more, I'm an odd person.

That is entirely possible. While I may have my misgivings about smalltown culture...I certainly stay far, far away from big cities when I have a choice :D.
.
Ah, this is where you and I are very different. :) I live about 45 minutes away from Chicago, and trust me, if I were allowed to, I would go there every weekend! I LOVE cities. Chicago especially. My home... *happy sigh*

Some more things you probably didn't know about me:
I play French Horn (fairly well, I think). I actually hope to be a professional musician someday... *crosses fingers*

I can't stand still. Literally. Whenever I'm standing my leg develops a mind of its own and fidgets like mad! (Now that I think about it, I'm doing it right now, too, while I'm sitting. I guess I fidget all the time!)

I cannot start a morning without a bowl of life cereal.

My friends make fun of the way I eat lunch: I have about one bite of my sandwich, then maybe a small piece of fruit, then two spoonfuls of yogurt, then another bite of my sandwich... I can't eat things in big sections. I get bored too quickly, I guess!

I only very rarely buy cards for people. I love making cards... it's fun to be creative, and generally people appreciate it more that way. :D Hooray!

I hate wearing hoods. I will put on a raincoat and get a wet head because I can't function with the hood on.
I can't just sit and watch tv; I have to be doing something that engages my hands and whatever part of my brain isn't focused on the tv as well.
Sometimes I just can't see stuff that's virtually at eye level. As in I have been known to walk into the arms of the clothesline and nearly put my eye out because I just didn't see them (more than once). I've done the same with hanging gambles and lamb hindquarters and once a forequarter of beef. I'm still not sure how I failed to see that one.
The lock on the car is remote. I'll lock it, then unlock it to make sure it was locked and then lock it again.
Can't think of anything else at the moment.

Yep, that's definately different :). I'd feel crowded out...and I get frustrated enough in a small town without animals.

I can understand that C1 :). I don't have a driver's license either, though I will get one when I can.

When playing cards I have to straighten the draw pile after anyone takes a card. This amuses my wife and friends to no end as they love to purposely disshevle the cards.I have tried to stop,Ican't.This is one of many tics I exhibit.

I do that too!!! It annoys everyone! however in playing snarf, I don't do that, due to the fast paced action! :)
