even if they treat you bad and break your heart, treat them with love next time you meet them. by doing that there would not be any reason left to them not to love you back.

I've read other quotes that express this idea better, but the one I found is sufficient:

All religion seems to need to prove that it's the only truth. And that's where it turns demonic. Because that's when you get religious wars and persecutions and burning heretics at the stake.

Buddhism does teach us to ignore our emotions. It teaches us to fully understand them, and transcend them.

Believe those who are seeking the truth, doubt those who find it.- Andre Gide

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.- Socrates

"Faith is a device of self-delusion, a sleight of hand done with words and emotions founded on any irrational notion that can be dreamed up. Faith is the attempt to coerce truth to surrender to whim. In simple terms, it is trying to breath life into a lie by trying to outshine reality with the beauty of wishes." ~~Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander

"It is sometimes hard to remember that the goal was to drain the swamp when you are arse deep in alligators." ~??

"A theologian is like a blind person in a dark room searching for a black cat which isn't there -- and finding it!" ~~ unknown

I has often been said
there's so much to be read,
you never can cram
all those words in your head.

So the writer who breeds
more words than he needs
is making a chore
for the reader who reads.

That's why my belief is
the briefer the brief is,
the greater the sigh
of the reader's relief is.

And that's why your books
have such power and strength.
You publish with shorth!
(Shorth is better than length.)

'Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness'

A version of this saying was used, and probably coined, by Adlai Stevenson (1900-65) in praise of Eleanor Roosevelt - in an address to the United Nations General Assembly in 1962

That's quite funny and probably true, take any Theocracy past or present as an example..of how much damage that can be done when State and Faith are one.
