What have peopled whom you know personally said to you that has been something you have taken to heart, liked, or live/d by?

This is the same as an ordinary quote thing, except we have the honour of knowing these people personally. These can be from friends, family, neighbours or teachers.

Interesting thread, as in contrast to most 'favourite quote' threads where i immediately focus on the content of the quote itself with some irrelevance to the person who actually might have said it, this made me think the other way, to the person who means a lot, and then to what they might have said. Gave me a nice insight into what it sometimes means to have a meaningful quote.

Still a valid criticism of the political ideologies the 2 major parties of American politics pander to, also why my dad was a registered Libertarian about a decade ago.
