Qur'an's challenge that nobody can ever meet

ALLAH , the Exalted, threw a challenge towards the whole creation of the universe to produce a book or even a part similar to the Qur'an , but nobody could able to meet this challenge in 1400 years and nobody can manage to do it for any time to come InshALLAH . This challenge concerns the features of the Qur'an in respect of ltteraure value , rhythmic style , science and history , philosophy and sociology , set of laws and rituals etc. So many people tried to composed books like it but failed in vain .

01. Challenge regarding the whole Qur'an :

[017:088] Say: "If the whole of mankind and Jinns were to gather together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they backed up each other with help and support.

[052:033] Or say they: He hath invented it ? Nay, but they will not believe!

[052:034] Then let them produce speech the like thereof, if they are truthful.

02. Challenge regarding only ten chapters :

[011:013] Or they may say, "He forged it," Say, "Bring ye then ten suras forged, like unto it, and call (to your aid) whomsoever ye can, other than God!- If ye speak the truth!

03. Challenge regarding even one chapter :


[002:023] And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to time to Our servant, then produce a Sura like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true.

To non Muslims who are seeking to understand the so called challenge in the verse I will first recommend that you need to make a serious effort if you wish to learn from religious scriptures. For starters you need to realize that no religious scripture (or religious truth in a wider sense) is over and above the society and environment within which it first came into being. It uses idioms and allegories suitable for that society to convey the message. Without first putting yourself in the shoes of a person of that age you have no hope of understanding what the scripture meant when it addressed him. For people in the Middle East hell was fire, for people in Greenland, fire was probably sacred. The important thing is not to draw conclusions directly but look at the historical and social context within which it was made and to try to understand it in that framework. Moreover many verses of The Quran are allegorical (Quran 3:7 states this itself).

Now for the interpretation. The verses are addressed to Arabs of the 7th century. The Arabs of that period were a semi-civilized barabaric people, who indulged in practices like live burials of girl child etc. One of the few things thing they held in high value was oral poetry. (They didn't value the prose to that extent). Their esteem for poetry can be gauaged from the fact that their name for a non-Arab was Ajmi(related to dumb). To them the breathtaking torrent of the Quran was astonishing and unheard of and even led some of them to dub the prophet as a magician. Many people like Umar bin Khattab(RA) were struck so suddenly and powerfully that it led to their immediate and complete transformation. The Quran is addressing the Arabs of that period . The extended challenge was a kind of proof that the Quran offered for its divinity to Arabs of that period. To think that it is a sort of challenge to be faced today is incorrect. Its message was that God can do things unheard of by people, and that is how the verse should be interpreted today.

I found the Vedas and the Gita to contain greater wisdom. Whatever I read in the Quran which I agree with so far, I also read in the aforementioned scriptures. But I found more. Therefore Quran has been wrong imo. Since it says "bring forth..." but then it addressed humans and jinns and I believe as per tradition that Vedas and Gita are the words of God. So... cant exactly which or what. But by default Muslims do not accept Vedas and Gita as revelation so, go figure.

well the appairent greatness of the holy quran ,, the mirical of the mohamed prayer of god and peace on him ,, is not the wisdom but it s the language
the arabic is e very biautiful language and the arabs were very articualte in it espacialy at the time of mohamed ,prayer of god and peace on him, but even them thy no one even and no one will ever arrive to the level of the language of the holy quran

With due respect , of course as a Hindu you need to believe that your veda and gita is sacred and more wisdomic to you than the Qur'an , but be a human being I can't admit the wisdom of veda when it is said , you have to worship cows ....

I think you are not right bro . Those verses addressed to human and jinn in general , not Arab only , hence not limited for the pagans of 7th Century . Moreover the verb [FONT=&quot] ياتو[/FONT] (bring forth) is an imperfect verb which implies that this challenge is applicable equally for the time when the Qur'an was revealed as well as for any time to come in future .

OK in line with topic I have constructive questions. What is the structure of the a 'sura'? What are its components and details? Can you get into the nitty gritty of it? What are the criterions that are to be met? For example different chapters of the quran have different content and length. I hope this helps with constructive discussion that yields greater understanding about the topic at hand.

IMO this topic isnt exactly about providing info since the very title itself says "Quran's challenge that nobody can meet"

Its a verse within a holy scripture of a religion that addresses everyone regardless and declares a challenge. So actually when people repeat it and say, "look my scripture says this, and thus far my scripture reigns supreme and everyone else cannot match up" it seems less like talking about their own religion and more of inviting everyone else and expecting a response from them.

AFAIK this verse is quoted to show the superiority, beauty, uniqueness and legitimacy of the Quran and Islam. That in so far, it has not been surpassed, therefore stands uncontested as the undisputed and unmatched divinely originated book.

And if I hadnt made that, post I wouldnt have gotten the response from mansel. Thanks man. I agree with your post when you mean it that way.

And to Union, afaik there is no verse in the Vedas which explictly supports worship of cows. And also the cow is considered to be a highly symbolic thing with lots of meanings.

  • There are 113 chapters of the Qur'an started with the same format of 1:1 except Chapter 9 . But In chapter 27 we can find this format repeated twice , which makes it occurrences 114 , which is divisible by 19 , i.e., 19x6

The role of Bism

Bism (In the Name) is the first word of the Quran and its root is Ism (Name). The role of this word in the mathematical code has not been examined. The word Bism occurs in the Quran with its peculiar spelling in the numbered verses three times: 1:1, 11:41, and 27:30. I found out that this word divides the Book into three parts and the number of verses in each part is a multiple of 19:
  1. The number of verses from the first Bism (1:1) to verse (11:40), verses 1:1 and 11:40 are counted, is 1520 =19×80.
  2. The number of verses from the second Bism (11:41) to verse (27:29), verses 11:41 and 27:29 are counted, is 1691 =19×89.
  3. The number of verses from the third Bism (27:30) to the end of the Quran, verse 27:30 and the last verse of the Book are counted, is 3135 =19×165.
This means the following:

  1. The order of the chapters and verses of the Quran has not been tampered with, i.e., it is preserved. This is significant considering the fact that the current format and order of the chapters and verses are different from the chronological revelation of the chapters and verses. Hence, the arrangement of the Quran’s chapters and verses preserves the mathematical code.
  2. Points to why the opening statement (Bismillah) of the first chapter (1:1) is numbered.
  3. It confirms Dr. Khalifa‘s findings that verses 9:128 & 129 were falsely injected into the Quran after the death of the Prophet Muhammad.
The Role of the opening verses as numbered verses

The opening statement (Basmalla) as a numbered verse occurs in the Quran twice, in verse 1:1 and in verse 27:30. This statement divides the Quran into two segments. Segment one contains the verses 1:1 to 27:29 and segment two consists of verses 27:30 to the end of the Book. It is clear from the previous discussion that the number of verses in each segment is a multiple of 19. I constructed Table 1 to show the occurrence of the words of the opening statement of the numbered verses of the first segment. The reader can verify my counts of the word Allah by consulting reference 1, and the words Ism, Rahman, and Rahim by consulting the second reference listed at the end of the article.
Table 1 shows the distribution of Ism, Allah, Rahman, and Rahim In the numbered verses from 1:1 to 27:29
The sum of the occurrence of the words of the opening statement (Ism+ Allah+ Rahman+ Rahim) for the first segment equals 9+1814+35+80=1938=19´102. It is interesting to note that the number 102 is the numerical value of the word Bism. The Role of the Quranic opening verse words of the initialed chapters


There is a set of initials (letters) preceding 29 out of the Quranic114 chapters. The sum of the occurrence of these letters that precede these "initialed chapters" always totals a factor of 19 in all chapters which that particular letter precedes in every case, see reference 1 for more details. As an example, the initials of chapter 36 are two letters ya and seen. The letter ya occurs 237 times and the letter seen occurs 48 times. The total occurrence of both letters is 285, which is 19´15. It is important to note the letters of the unnumbered opening statement of that chapter are also counted in this task. The phenomenon is general and valid through whole the Quran. It seems to me that the words of the opening statement (Bism, Allah, Rahman, and Rahim) are common words among the 29 initialed chapters, therefore, they should follow the rule. Table 3 shows the opening verse words of the initialed chapters. The occurrence of each word in all the verses (numbered +unnumbered) of the initialed chapters is:
Bism occurs 31 times.
Allah occurs 1121 times.
Rahman occurs 66 times.
Rahim occurs 74 times.
Total occurrence of the above four words equals 31+1121+66+74=1292=19×68
It hard to escape noticing the number 68 is the number of the last initial sura. Also, the word God occurs 1121 times=19×59. It is worth noticing that the absolute sum of the number 59 is 14 (14 initials)
Table 3 shows the opening verse words of the initialed chapters
Examination of Table 3 shows that the word Ism was not once mentioned in the initialed chapters. If we submit to the probability law, this word should have been mentioned 9 or 10 times in these chapters since Ism is mentioned 19 times in the whole Quran and the initialed chapters consist almost half the Quran. The Significance of the number of the chapters in Qur'an (114) :

01.

Here God says that He (using angelic forces) is responsible for the collecting of all the verses of the Quran into what is now called the Quran . The Arabic verb here for collecting or gathering is (jama’s)

.The gematrical value of the word ( Jam’u = Collector or Gatherer ) is 114. [J =3, A =1, M= 40 and A’in = 70 = 114 ]

Sura 1, verse 1 'Basmallah', occurs in the Quran 114 times = 19 x 6 despite the absence of Basmallah from sura 9. The very first verse of the Quran gives an indication of the number of Sura's in the book.

Sura 110, the last chapter revealed, has three numbered verses and one un-numbered verse, i.e. Basmallah. 110 + 4 verses =114. As if sura 110 which is the last revealed sura predict the total of the suras in the Quran.

The number of chapters in the Quran is 114. 114 = 6 x 19 and 619 is the 114th prime.

Sura 19 is the 6th initialled sura that was revealed. Note that the 619 is prime number and its index is 114 and that 114 = 6 x 19. We all know that 114 is the number of suras in the Quran. The word GOD is mentioned for the first time in this sura in verse 30. Note that 30 is the 19th composite. 19:30 is the 114th verse containing the word "Allah" in the revelation order. Number 19, the code of the miracle of the Quran is mentioned in verse 30 (sura74.) An intricate system beyond all times.

The chemical element number 114 has a magic nucleus. A magic nucleus is a highly stable one with all the shells closed. The magic numbers in nuclei are 2, 8, 20, 28, 50 and 82 as far as we know in the periodic table of elements. It is interesting to note that 2+8+20+28+50+82 = 190 = 19X10

The important phrase, "Wahdahoo La Sharika lah," (GOD ALONE, HE has no partners) has a gematrical value of 619. 619 is the 114th prime number and also 6X19 =114 which is the number of suras in the Quran.

The order of chapters of Qur'an :


Muhammad wrote it down in its chronological order. He left the proper instructions to put all the Suras and all the verses at the right place.


For example, the first Sura revealed was “The Hanging (Embryo.)” Yet it was not placed as the first Sura of the Qu’ran. “The Hanging (Embryo)” was placed as the 96 th Sura of the Qu’ran. Indeed, according to the instructions left by the Prophet, “The Hanging (Embryo)” was to be the 96 th Sura of the Qu’ran. The first one being the 5 th Sura revealed: “The Key.” The committee just followed the instructions left by the Prophet. The Prophet was but a man – he just did what his Lord, the One and Only God, told him to do. He knew nothing about the Mathematical Miracle, for it was to be revealed during the computer age. See 10:20 and 27:82.



The fact that the order of the Suras of the Qu’ran is different from the order of revelation gives us a direct item for the Mathematical Miracle and confirms once again (See Appendix 1) the validity of the instructions left by the Prophet. It confirms beyond doubt that the collection and the writing of the Quran was all controlled by God Almighty, the author of the Quran Himself. See 75:16-17

Let us write down the numbers of all the Suras of the Qu’ran preceded by their revelation order next to each other. Sura 1 is the 5 th Sura revealed, thus the number representing it looks like this: 5 1. Sura 2 is the 87 th Sura revealed, its number looks like this: 87 2. The number representing the first two Suras looks like this: 5 1 87 2.



Let us do the same with all the Suras. We get a final number that consists of 468 digits and that long number follows the same pattern of the rest of the Mathematical Miracle of the Quran, is a multiple of 19.



Here is the final number representing the Sura numbers preceded by their revelation order:

The astonishing math-miracle of the word 'ALLAH' in Qur'an :



  1. God informs us in 74:25-30 that the authenticity of the Quran will be proven by the number 19.
  2. God describes as "One of the greatest miracles" (74:35) this code, based on the number 19.
  3. The word "God" (Allah) occurs in the Quran 2698 times, and this number equals 19x142.
  4. The sum of the verse numbers wherever the word "God" is found comes to 118123, or 19x6217.
  5. The sum of all the occurrences of the word "God" in all the verses whose numbers are multiples of 19 (i.e., verses 19, 38, 57, 76, etc.) is 133, or 19x7.
  6. The sum of all the occurrences of the word "God" in all the verses whose numbers are NOT multiples of 19 comes to 117990, or 19x6210.
  7. The suras whose number of verses is divisible by 19 are Suras 47, 82, 87, & 96. The word "God" occurs in these suras 27, 1, 1, & 1 times, respectively. By adding these sura numbers, plus the occurrences of the word "God," the total is 342, or 19x18.
  8. From the first set of Quranic Initials (A.L.M. of Sura 2) to the last Quranic Initial (N. of Sura 68), the number of occurrences of the word "God" is 2641 times, or 19x139
  9. Outside the initialed section of the Quran (Sura 1 on one side, and Suras 69-114 on the other side), the word "God" occurs 57 times, or 19x3.
  10. By adding the numbers of suras and verses where these 57 occurrences of the word "God" are found (Item 9 above), the total comes to 2432, or 19x128
  11. The Quran's message is that "God is One." The word "One" (Wâhed) occurs in the Quran 25 times, 6 of them do not refer to God, and the ones referring to God are precisely 19. Does Sura 9 Consist of 127 verses, or 129 verses? Here are more proofs
  12. Take all the suras whose number of verses end with the digit “7”. These are suras 1, 9*, 25, 26, 45, 86, & 107. Their number of verses are 7, 127 *, 77, 227, 37, 17, & 107, respectively. The total occurrence of the word "God" In these sums is 209, or 19x11
  13. Take all the suras whose number of verses end with the digit "9." These are sura 10, 15, 29, 43, 44, 48, 52, 57, 81, 82, 87, 96, & 104. They consist of 109, 99, 69, 89, 59, 29, 49, 29, 29, 19, 19, 19, & 9 verses, respectively. The total occurrence of the word "God" in these suras is 190, or 19x10
  14. The number of occurrences of the word "God" from the beginning of the Quran to the end of Sura 9 (9:127) is 1273, or 19x67.
  15. The sura number (9), plus its verses (127), plus the word "God" in Sura 9 (168), gives 304, or 19x16.
  16. The word "God" occurs in 85 suras; the sum of every sura number, plus the number of the last verse where the word "God" occurs, gives a total that equals 3910 + 5191 = 9101, or 19x479.
  17. Take the 85 sums where the word "God" occurs. Add the number of every sura, plus the number of verses from the first to the last verse where the word "God" occurs, and you get 3910 + 4260 = 8170, or 19x430.

Dear folks , the construction of the Qur'an is woven in such a way which is beyond the capability of human being . In the dark 7th Century the Qur'an was revealed with such super human mathematical structure to Prophet Muhammad which is only detectable with the help of 20th Century computer . And thats how Almighty ALLAH challenged the whole universe to produce even a single chapter similar to one in the Qur'an .

Well , there are hundreds and hundreds of astonishing mathematical features related with the construction of the Qur'an but for that we need to insert long tables , which is out of scope/capability of this forum . I tried to consult with the administrator of this section , but he is not sure how to do it .

Hence , I have to refrain form it and will try to present the simple facts only .

Just a notice: this topic might be interesting to discuss, but unfortunately it has been posted in a DIR section.
So, for future reference, if you want others to chime in, perhaps one of the discussion/debate sections might be better. :)
