Race Mixing and Why I’m Against It

The IMSA series has different classes of cars racing in the same race on the same track. Having different classes at different speed, IMO, presents an increased risk of collision at higher speeds increasing the risk of injury or death.

I think NASCAR, Indy Car, and Formula 1 are much safer.

What are your thoughts?

The Federal Government is tryin' to play God, sir. They think they are greater than God. Who's making all this happen, the Federal Government?

The original idea was from the former government. This government was only continuing what was formulaly put into motion. They had little choice as trillions had already been committed.

I'm wondering if this thread is a ricochet off An Dà Shealladh's thread "I'm mixed race and I'm against race mixing". Clever rebound.

When I read the thread title, I thought your OP was going to be about interracial marriage . ...:D

Yea, it is written in the Book of Cyril...
Also, if mixed race kids suffer social injustice and subsequent issues, surely that's an argument against social injustice, not against race mixing?

IMSA's fine. I'm not closed-minded - closed-wheel cars mixing with other closed-wheel cars is racing as it was meant to be.

Formula Libre, though - that's an abomination. Spec racers were made with fenders and no amount of wishing that things were different will make them open-wheel cars.

Racing isn't safe. Its a young man's game. Every last one of those racers is a danger to themselves. If you remove the danger you kill the race.
And yet significantly fewer of them are injured and killed than regular motorists. Afterall, it was personal negligence of safety and a fluke that killed Earnhardt.

Oh Come on...who wouldn't want to see an Indy car race a rail dragster or a NASCAR racing Baja racers...sheesh...how can anyone be against this..and if it was not for race mixing there would be NO monster truck rallies and that would just be un-Merican
