Radio Preachers

It blows my mind listening to preachers on Christian radio, and when I listen it’s so obvious there’s a deeper message than what they’re preaching. They tell us stories meant to stir up wisdom within our souls.

...Wisdom within your soul?
Really?

Then they can pitch you for your money and some books that they wrote and maybe that inspired download or CD set for a generous contribution.

Some do it for money and others do it to enlighten.
Rest assured if they got advertising and marketing behind it it's for the money if the personal net worth of the respected Padre is in the six figure range.

But don't worry I don't apply that to just Christians only, I apply that to any religion out there.

I’m not Christian. Many people enjoy their jobs. Some chefs enjoy cooking. Etc Moneys a nice perk though because without it you starve, become homeless and ultimately end up in an early grave.

You have a valid point but Religious who just live off the donations of others and then wallows in personal opulence as a result, just dosent sit well with me.

I think it's a matter of personal viewpoints but every time I see something like that inolving religious in particular , I feel like the people are getting ripped off and the con men are the ones who always benefit in the end.

It's one of those things where it's not technically or even legally wrong , but yet at the same time it comes across as a predator fleecing its prey.

Maybe it's because of me over the years looking at people like Peter Popoff , Kenneth Copeland , Joyce Meyers, Benny Hinn , Robert Tilton, and special mention to Jim Bakker , as he eats slop from a bucket with a latrine shovel shilling his buckets of survival food at hideously inflated prices and selling a gaudy cheap blanket for over a thousand dollars. Both radio and TV.

I'm sure each of the aforementioned absolutely love their jobs and will have no problems eating and paying their bills whatsoever for the rest of their natural lives.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I can't see real mutual benefit between a person selling the goods and a person paying for what the other is selling, and that would include intangibles like well-being and Enlightenment and the like.

All that said, I suppose at the end of the day, if the person churning out the cash likes what they receive, and they're happy with it, then who am I to say what is right or wrong on the matter?

A lot of preachers are talented orators but not much wisdom in what they say. They sound very profound at times, but no substantive content do I hear.

Maybe someday they'll use those pulpits to speak real truth but I'm not holding my breath for that.

The best idea religion ever came up with was church. I just find for myself hollow meanings in their messages.

That's a good post and probably hits home on what I feel about it is that such people seem to be far more interested in the prosperity and wealth of their own Ministries as opposed to the people they minister to.
