Andra130,
So glad you asked what random acts of kindness have been done to us.
I have been without a car for seven years, and that was fine for me, as everything I need is right in town, within walking distance. Suddenly the grocery store I shopped at closed and I had to walk approximately 23 long blocks to get to the food store and then walk back uphill. It had become too much for me and I realized I had to get a car because I have a dog, five cats outside that I take care of, but mostly for the rabbit who needs fresh greens and carrots every day.
I won't go into complete detail but, I saw a car in the neighborhood and tried to get it. Little did I know that the people who were selling it were my friends who had helped me get the stray cats fixed. They wanted eight hundred dollars for this fifteen yr. old car and I felt blessed to get it at that price. Then the wife called out from the kitchen, " No, mom said seven hundred for her. I was delighted! After I had purchased it something wonderful happened. I came home from shopping one day and the woman friend pulled up behind me. She handed me an envelope and said since the car needed muffler work, mom, (who owned the car) wanted to give me two hundred dollars towards the cost. I was flabbergasted! I tried to give her back the money, because I told her that I had gone to the mechanic just that morn and he said I don't need the work until August 2005 when the inspection was due. She wouldn't hear of it. So I got this car for $500.00. Incredible! Who the heck does that??? It blew me away.
There are many other things, but I will leave room for others to respond.
