All oaks have their day, you will find that the best thing is just to let nature take its course. The woodworm are only a surface pest and you should find that the heart of the tree is safe. As an oak starts to wind down ( which can take several hundred years ) they become a host to an incredible number of insects and animals. You should just enjoy the Oaks as they are and why not plant some of the acorns to replace them when they are gone. Hug a tree today.
