I wake up in a great mood nearly everyday. Fitness and nutrition goes a long way. So does controlling your thoughts, and controlling your emotions. Lose the addictions, exercise regularly, drink lots of water, forge healthy relationships… and cherish life while you have it.

What's your secret?
Good fortune.
Depression is weird with me... I don't suffer often, but it kicks in occasionally. And then it lingers until someone or something snaps me out of it. It doesn't always make sense... perhaps seeing a raccoon get into someone's garbage, or someone saying something random that hits me in the heart and knocks me out of it... gives me a moment of joy, and then I'm better again.
@Valjean, eh.

Moods perplex me.

How is it a person can wake up in a circumstance one day and feel great, and wake up in the exact same situation the next day and feel lousy? What happens when one wakes up on the wrong side of the bed?

I'm sure there are brain chemicals and cycles that come into play, but it makes me curious why things are not always the same on the inside when they are the same on the outside...

The other day I woke up in a pretty good mood. I was a bit tired, but then I thought "Oh well, today's Saturday, so I'll sleep some more." But then a couple of minutes later I realized that it was not, in fact, Saturday, but Monday. My mood quickly soured.

I'll give you my Saturday if you give me your Monday. I hate Saturday.

There really can be something to this.
I quit several addictions to things I was drinking and eating, a step at a time, starting around a couple of decades ago, and latest a few years ago, that now I eat just meals that are all whole foods and nothing from animals anymore, and have eliminated certain allergens, and with this healthy way I have not noticed generally bad moods, though still there are circumstances that do bother me at times. I believe God meant this way for us.
