Real story of jesus

I heard he had a successful recording career and is now retired in Aspen. Though admittedly there there is some debate around that; it might be California.

You're taking an account that was written over 100 years after the fact, with no direct connection to the events depicted. I'd say none of it happened, and it made for good literature.

the gospels (except for Johns) were written very early on. How do you think christianity became established so early with so many christian communities abroad?

How is it known that the gospels were written early? Its because of the book of Acts written by Luke.
Luke wrote the book of Acts after his gospel. The book of Acts contains the details of the Apostle Pauls imprisonment in Rome, but it doesnt report on the outcome of Pauls appeal to Caesar. Seeing that Luke was with Paul when Paul was in Rome, it is unlikely that Luke would not report on what happened to Paul while there. And Paul was put to death by Nero around 65CE...yet Luke doesnt mention it in his account about Paul which is firm evidence he had completed the book of Acts before that year. And that means his gospel ('the first account') was written before that time also. thats within 30 years of Jesus death, not 100.

a person who has no respect for Gods word has no authority on scripture. and that perfectly explains his agnosticism.

A person that takes something as truth without really evaluating every property of it has no authority to say s/he knows truth.

If you ask me, a person with real faith doesnt need to go :ignore:

Now there is nothing wrong with being weak or scared sometimes, we are humans, but saying that anyone who isn´t scared is wrong is a little.... well, you might wanna get over that, fort truth´s sake.

the Bible answers questions that only God can answer such as what happens to us when we die. That is an answer only he would know. The fact that bible is unique in stating that mankind cease to exist shows that it is not influenced by the writings you mention which are very certain there is an afterlife. So someone is not telling the truth and I think it shows that the bible at least is not likely to be the work of men who want nothing more then for an afterlife to exist.

So, there are no other writings talk of mankind ceasing to exist, or talking of an afterlife?

Quran talks of both. According to your criteria, that is Gods word to

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Well to lay it all to rest, I suppose the missing aspects concerning the alledged Jesus's youth and young adulthood need addressing.

The trek to India supposition is as good as any that I've come across.

One aspect I heard is that Jesus had studied Tantric Hinduism under the tutulage of a guru during his youth where he had learned to mimic death. Made a brief apperance to his disciples after his "execution" and quickly returned to India to avoid a real death by the romans should upon discovery it was determined that he was still alive.

And then he appeared in the Americas before and after his death and preached to the Nephites. There's even more evidence for this than the India theory.

Nonetheless, there's good reason to believe Thomas did in fact preach in India.

At least A Thomas preached there.

Romans were to good at killing people on a cross to let him slide. the lance in the side as well.

I tried this avenue and it doesnt pan out.

The nails in hands and feet, if they did both would have been a deaths sentance alone from infection in that time. Tetanus anyway lol

the odds of a poor farm boy from a town so small it doesnt really have any historicity to speak of in the first century is one thing. But when we look at Yeshua possibly being a relative of john the babtist it changes things slightly as a view of a tekton to teacher transformation. Nothing in history suggest he ever traveled out of the general area. he was unknown before 30 for a reason, he was just a normal man.

Actually, I think all the ones I cited talk about what happens after death.

I am not sure what you mean by most of your post , like "mankind ceasing to exist" though.

Actually I didn´t understand most of anything that you wrote there.

Ha, you just made me remember. According to Christianity and the book Revelations, mankind doesn't cease to exist! It is reborn and all with Jesus as ruler.

Lol, I guess Pegg forgot about that one

I am not even sure if that is what she said. Maybe she was refering to the sinners that burn in the lake of fire and cease to exist? I really didn´t understand her post really well .

the bible doesnt talk of an afterlife. It talks of a resurrection.

If there was an afterlife, then there would be no need for a resurrection.

So any book professing to teach from God which talks of an afterlife (in the sense of living on as a spirit after one dies) then they are telling the same lie that Satan told Eve in the garden of Eden...."you positively will not die but you will become like God..."

Ezekiel 18:4 “The soul that is sinning is the one that will die.”
In Hebrew., han‧ne′phesh ha‧cho‧teʼth′ hiʼ tha‧muth′

If souls die, what lives on in your afterlife?

Your church is the only ones to believe it. Most others interpretate the kingdom and the guy jesus said would be with him after deth, as being a heaven.

Either way, you didn't prove anything.

so you dont believe Gods word? Perhaps you've never read the scriptures pertaining to this subject before. I've read them and im convinced that the bible is Gods word of truth. If you read it you might see it too.
