Real world horror due to MAGA hurricane lies

I don't know what is strong enough to destroy the evil MAGA Trump cult. But clearly it's so strong that people will suffer and unfortunately lives will be lost. I have to assume that at least a few will turn death threats into actual attacks the cult disease is so strong.

And for a very sad personal consequence:

Emotional North Carolina Man Blames Trump for MAGA Father-in-Law Refusing Hurricane Help Over FEMA Conspiracy: ‘It’s A Cult!’

Anthony told Abrams that his wife’s father believes FEMA is “going to take his house” if he accepts assistance following the damage caused by Hurricane Helene.
...
It’s hard to even imagine it. I mean, he lost almost everything, and he’s refusing all help from the federal government and complaining to us that he doesn’t have food, that he doesn’t have the stuff he needs, and yet he won’t accept the help. What the hell are we supposed to do? We’re not in a position to be able to fly across the country and help him. There’s people begging us to get him to accept help and he won’t do it. And I guarantee you, I’m not the only one. I guarantee you I’m not the only one.
...
We’ve sent him all the stuff from the fact checkers. He doesn’t believe it. He thinks it’s all — he just believes Trump, literally, Dan. He just — it’s a cult! He’s a cult member. I’m sorry to say it. He’s a cult member. And he’s my father-in-law and it sucks.

Even sane Republicans have had it:

Republicans in Congress call out hurricane misinformation coming from within their own party

“He just makes it up. So he is able to spew enough disinformation that the Chinese must be smiling,” added Romney. “When it comes to a holiday from the truth, he’s taken the longest vacation.”

I was told today not to send anything through FEMA and the Red Cross. They've started on the Red Cross, now. I was told to only use churches and local groups to provide help through. So I took a trunk load of coats, hats, and gloves to a local fire department. I won't dare say they're sending it all to be distributed by FEMA and the Red Cross.

Franklin Graham needs to speak out on behalf of FEMA and the Red Cross. His Samaritan's Purse in working Appalachia and he has enough pull to correct this craziness if he had enough courage to stand opposed to Trump. Someone should remind him how much his father regretted not standing against Nixon when it was the right thing to do.

Fema does not deal with donations at all I don't think and the red cross may use some, but for disaster aid, they use stockpiles of materials they have for the purpose. The fairly standard answer is if you want to give, give money because the cost of transport of anything else is prohibitive.

Glad you asked ...

This is false.
This is a type of assistance that you may be approved for soon after you apply, called Serious Needs Assistance. It is an upfront, flexible payment to help cover essential items like food, water, baby formula, breastfeeding supplies, medication and other emergency supplies. There are other forms of assistance that you may qualify for to receive and Serious Needs Assistance is an initial payment you may receive while FEMA assesses your eligibility for additional funds. As your application continues to be reviewed, you may still receive additional forms of assistance for other needs such as support for temporary housing, personal property and home repair costs. If you have questions about your disaster assistance application and what you qualify for, contact us at 1-800-621-3362 to speak with a FEMA representative in your language.

is a rather awkward claim. It's as if you struggles to inject MAGA memes and confused yourself.

Does anyone remember the DNC Biden-Harris disinformation scam during COVID, where truth was called disinformation, so the bone-heads in the swamp would not be held accountable for their tyrant tactics. This site has an entire topic about COVID and truth being censored as cover for tyrants, The whiney Government is incompetent and corrupt and needs to be audited not shelter from the truth. Why not do the job and earn respect, instead of whine?

The reason this whiny started is Harris, who has never been involved with FEMA or any disaster since 2020, all of a sudden shows interest, due her election bubble deflating. She was the one who was politicizing this as stunt, while blaming everyone else. Governor DeSantis of Florida did not have time to hand hold her, so she could pose for the camera and pretend to care so fake news can run her deception campaign.

DeSantis does not even want FEMA, anywhere near the Hurricane Milton, since their woke policies have fried the Agency into stupidity. He is accepting the funds from the Feds and Biden to help people, but the hurricane response is fully covered by DeSantis. He is working with Biden, and Governors who are sharing resources. He has 10,000's of linemen to restore electricity after it is safe to rebuild. These come from all over the country to be helpful. This is how good citizens deal with disaster. FEMA needs to learn from this.

The new number one priority of FEMA, under Biden and Harris, to make FEMA responses more DEI equitable, which means they will not help everyone who is not with their program. Suffering is now conditional on box checking, in terms of woke preferences. This is why some regions of North Carolina have still not seen FEMA; it is too white and too Republican. The mission of FEMA is about emergency management discrimination, not reacting the Biden-Harris created emergencies, like to much illegal immigration and deplete the FEMA fund for its original mission; natural disasters. We are dealing with sick and incompetent people in power. Now they are trying to hide the truth via censorship.

FEMA could reverse this simply by doing their of job of emergency management, in a professional manner, rather than censor criticism, so they can avoid work and legality.

That's pretty weird. The people themselves living in Florida are saying different.

But I do hope I'm wrong cuz I really do want to see help for Florida folks and I'm not going to politicize the hurricane anymore like a lot of people are doing, if I'm wrong that's a good thing as long as Floridians get the help they need.

The New York Post reported a claim made by a NC mayor, and this has been picked up by AOL and others. I would like to it it fact-checked and some context offered. As for "people themselves living in Florida," something more credible than relatively anecdotal reports might be useful.

Furthermore, it should be painfully obvious that FEMA, along with way too many governors, mayors, first responders, and citizens, have faces tremendous overload lately. There will inevitably be oversights and errors. There will inevitably be government personnel who misconstrue the layers of protocol put in place to manage what is in many respects an unprecedented and fluid situation.

To cherry-pick atypical incidents in an effort to leverage natural disaster is cruel and unethical in the extreme. I am not accusing you of doing this. I am, however, suggesting that what you are disseminating and/or insinuating very much appears one-sided and politically motivated.

Yes, that is the Serious Needs Assistance amount, back when Trump was President it was $500.
As for misinformation, read this about what it is and how to apply and what the rules are and then come back if you have real questions not just some unverified anecdotes from social media which as we have all too often seen are misinformation like MTG claiming people are controlling the weather.

Well you certainly included all the latest culture war buzz words in there.
Congrats for that, I guess.
