Just started watching this, but it looks good so far: The Pillars of the Earth (TV mini-series 2010) - IMDb

It's set in England in about the middle of the 12th century, and it looks really well done so far. Great cast too (Donald Sutherland for one).

I'm only half way through the first episode, but I'm planning on getting hooked. :D

I'm an historical fiction junkie (but I'm picky) and I give this one a tentative thumbs up.

Also want to second Seyorni's recommendation of ROME (best historical mini-series ever, IMO)

Thanks, Octavia156.

I read the book about 20 years ago so I don't remember a lot of it, but I do remember that it was hard to put down. I'm glad someone made a faithful adaptation.

do love
Family Guy
American Dad
grew up on Simpsons.

Archer great.

Will look up other for laughs, but mainly looking for drama.

Getting into a good series is like a lazy mans novel. When they finish you feel the same emptiness you get on completing a good trilogy.
I feel so let down when great series end.
I really miss Deadwood & The Wire.
I dread the end of Breaking Bad & Dexter.
24 wore me out!

You know dude.

Just did 7.5 seasons of Weeds in 2 weeks.... hate catching up with rest of the wolrd... having to wait a week - balls!!

The Wire, Dexter, and Sopranos and 24 back in the day, left great holes in my life.
Carnivale and Twin Peaks were insurmmoutable as they were left unfishised - both leave the viewer in the "Black Lodge of Unsatiation"

Lie to Me is really good - Tim Roth
Wire and Lie to me worth a rewatch soon as is Carnivale

Breaking Bad is getting next level! love the darkness.. love the comedy of weeds. Nancy vs Walter, sexy milf brain vs psuedomoral chemist brain
My $$ on Mr White :p

If you like comedy/animation, anything by Seth MacFarlane is pretty hilarious (Family Guy, American Dad, Cleveland Show).

Update

DeadWood and Rome failed the boyfriend test.

Rome lasted approx 10mins, Deadwood lasted 2 episodes.

The rule is - if it makes you cringe, or fall asleep it dies.

Have you considered getting a new boyfriend?
(He failed the "Deadwood Test".)
