GC, you don't have to accept anything you aren't convinced of. Just understand that the Catholic Church has always been trying to explain what she teaches. The mass amounts of historical data is there to show it. So it's not about "trying to explain away" GC. It's always been about trying to explain what we believe. And please don't take my word for it, there is much for you to read to show it.

Thanks, Victor.
I am always reading, and so far all explanations have not convinced me. But I will still keep on reading and try to understand what the Catholic Church is saying, though sometimes it is very taxing on me trying to follow the arguements which I know is contradictory at some point.

But don't you see that it can only be contradicting if you properly understand it? If you read something and ask me for example "I read catholics do such and such, is this true and does the church teach this?". I will answer you with "yes it is true, just another case of catholics gone bad, nothing new. But the Church does not teach such things". When you are a loyal catholic you begin to pick up on and understand what the Church teaches vs. actions of catholics. I hope you see what I mean.

I don't know. I don't believe people's efforts can be necessarily equated to satisfy God. You either have Grace, or you don't. This is RC theology.

Just for clarification...lesser, lower, higher, greater are not used to describe efforts.

Ok, but someday I wish to discuss grace and how it is applied in LDS theology.
