Red States Being Invaded

A potential for unexpected political outcomes in those Red States, though I am sure MAGA will cry 'election fraud' until forever.

Among my circle of acquaintances, I've only seen conservative/right-leaning/MAGA types 'fleeing' the blue state of Illannoying and heading into the Red south.

Of course my convenience sample is fully representative of the phenomenon...

In my opinion, headlines mimicking right-wing talking points are mildly thoughtless and irresponsible. I suspect that most will disagree but, as a society, we tend to enable what we normalize.
Yeah. Like hiw hardly anyone mentions people are still coming to California and the Central Valley is still having decades of explosive growth. But that flies inthe face if articles saying people are fleeing from here, doesn't generate the attention or clicks, so the narrative must be no one is moving here, no new businesses, no new housing units.

My intent was not to fault what I found to be an informative article.

I like how conservatives hate capitalism's "greedy developers".
Oh, the horror! People building on their own land for profit!

A broader picture...
I have a friend in CA who is planning a move to Maine
or thereabouts because he can afford so much more than
where he now lives in CA.

LOL, don't give us no regulation and let everybody do what they want, freedom and capitalism.
Oh wait, we don't like that any more cuz somebody else wants to move here.

That's been my anecdotal experience as well, with family and friends. I do have one lefty friend who moved to Montana because she's an outdoorsy type, but that was a few years ago.

I love when conservatives are so upset by the reality of markets...when more people move to your area (increasing demand without increasing supply), prices go up! Gasp!

I could see leaving Washington State. During the pandemic I had a friend that kept looking at houses in Las Vegas. I could have twice the house that I have now, with a pool! For my teeny little place. That can be very tempting. Plus I am getting a bit tired of Juneuary. Okay, it is not quite as cold as January, but the weather is the same. Summer does not come to the Puget Sound area until after July 4th. If you ever want to vacation in the Seattle area plan it for any time between January and the end of September. Your odds of seeing any rain at all are very very small. If I do ever leave here it will not be during the local summer time.

That's a huge problem. A lot of people say if you're going to go to a red state because its better, don't bring your stinky blue laundry and dirty garbage with you.
