Regarding Disliking People

This is just a quick announcement: recently, someone told me that some of my posts give the impression that I dislike those I disagree with.

I would like to say that I don't dislike anyone here anymore. I have PMed every one of the people I disliked, and we managed to have friendly conversations and break the ice. I may not be friends with everyone, but I definitely don't dislike anyone either.

Thank you for reading. :D
To show my friendship.....
No thermometer though.

I think it is okay to dislike, but not hate. I think there is a difference.

What do you think?

Oh, I do get strange non friendly over-protective/defensive replies and I do get the impression the poster is a hater who wants to release their hatred against me in a clever passive aggressive way. I just ignore this kind of people.

You are not one of them. I'm just relating :D
yep.....there's a difference
I might not like what you say....or the way you said it.

but some viewpoints can and do instill hatred.

This is because people usually identify with their opinions. Being proven wrong or merely challenged hurts if you treat your opinion as your own brain child. Many people are very sensitive and they think that their opinions should be respected no matter how ridiculous they are. Or they think that all opinions are equal. These are all delusions.

I like debates and I don't treat people challenging my views as my enemies. However, sometimes people can be real douches online and resort to ad hominems instead of offering legitimate counter-arguments. If someone is a meanie, I don't pm them complaining and asking "Oh why don't you like me?" I don't even block or report them because I couldn't be bothered. At the end of the day, these are all just words on the screen.

A while back I saw a very large woman driving a scooter at break-neck speed, she had a bag of chips in one hand and a cigarette in the other. :p

Doesnt SOUND like @Draka , but I guess we'll never know for sure...

No. :p Was not me. And I only used one of those little scooter things a couple times in a grocery store after surgery fellas. Quit pickin' on me or I'm tellin'!

Aye, I think it is important to remember that disagreement does not mean dislike. I along with most people on RF are in a constant state or debate and disagreement with others, but in no way does that mean we dislike the individuals.

Of course, there will be those whom we disagree with and dislike, but in my experience they are in the minority.

Yes, I disagree with those I like on here on a regular basis. While we may get along fine in all other threads, there can be a few subjects where we are at odds. doesn't mean I dislike someone if I disagree with them. It's called being an adult. Now, that is not to say that there aren't a few here I thoroughly dislike. They probably dislike me as well, quite a bit, and I don't care one iota either. ;)

Meh, I'm Australian. We pick on people we like, and ignore people we don't, so just treat it as a mark of the esteem in which I hold you...

Yeah, I've noticed you've been ignoring me since I returned last month.

I think I'll just start picking on you instead. *throws a poopy diaper bomb at lewisnotmiller*
