Right.

Like poor Steve from Blue's Clues: he lost his job because he started to go bald. Where was the petition for him? Nowhere, because he wasn't a jerk to anyone.

#justiceforsteve!!

Indeed. Anyone who's actually against "cancel culture" would be campaigning for Colin Kaepernick to get another NFL spot.
And yet nothing but the sound of crickets.
What was his crime exactly? Something about kneeling? I’m not American sorry

His fans might dismiss a hue difference...
He used his work venue for his political speech.
She spoke outside of her work environment.

He wasn't fired though. Turns out he's no Mr. Rogers, he couldn't handle the pressure, and he quit.

Years later, Burns offered an explanation for his decision to quit. "Everyone wants there to be a dramatic answer and there's not," he told the Daily Mail in 2017, explaining there's was no "cool answer" explaining his exit. According to Burns, he simply felt it "just seemed like time to go... I was just getting older and I kind of occupied this weird older brother space on that show. Like I was sort of an adult, but not really."

There was another factor behind Burns' decision to leave: he was losing his hair. "I knew I wasn't going to be doing children's television all my life, mostly because I refused to lose my hair on a kid's TV show," Burns said in an interview on a Nick Jr. special, Behind the Clues: 10 Years with Blue. "And it was happening... fast," he added.

Disney is a private company, yes? So they can hire or fire whoever they please. I suggest better union agreements.
What’s really telling though is that I remember the same people crying that she’s been cancelled originally petitioned for her to be ousted, citing “forced diversity.” They changed their tune when they found out she was on their side, politically speaking.
I believe that’s called hypocrisy

I don't see anyone arguing against Disney's right.

The "same people", eh.
How do you know this?

I suspect that you don't really know that the
critics-cum-defenders are the very same people.

Well I was referring to the “usual suspects.” And they did make literal videos calling for her firing. And now those same creators are crying cancel culture when she was fired. So I kind of do lol
I’m not saying every single person involved, I’m just saying there is overlap between the audiences. Just from my observations. At least on YouTube

Lol you guys scare me sometimes, you know that?
Reading about how the rest of the developed world, it made me realize we really got the **** end of the stick here. It's why everybody has to keep telling themselves we're the best ever and we have so much better than everybody else, because if they realized we actually don't it would be like a bunch of Cybermen having their emotional dampener turned off.
(I have personally never been in a union, nor had the opportunity that I'm aware of)

Wait you guys like actually don’t have unions?
Even retail workers here have offical unions. Whether or not they are useful is debatable but even scared teenagers are encouraged to join. If only to (in theory) protect them from the bosses.
I recall one of my old coworkers was also a union rep and pretty much did whatever she wanted because the bosses dared not risk inviting the unions ire. So I guess they do work

This seems an illusion.
I could just as easily say that the usual suspects were
defending Kaepernick's speech because they agreed,
but care naught about Carano because they don't agree.
Painting imagined people as hypocrites to dismiss a
view doesn't work.

I tried watching the show. Alas, it was less than compelling.
Not worth continuing.

I’m talking about specific content creators on YouTube, who all literally recorded themselves calling for Gina’s resignation. Only for these exact same creators to rally to her defence and cry cancel culture once her political affiliation became more known.
Now I don’t know about you, but I would call that hypocrisy.
Colloquially they are known as “grifters.” Self styled political pundits who’s opinions seem rather malleable. Now I’m all for people changing and growing. But to flip flop so constantly I could have sworn they were all actual politicians lol

Oh, well that sounds awful.
How come you guys don’t have (many) unions
Because they're pro-worker and anything pro-worker or anything else that helps and benefits more than the obscenely wealthy is evil socialist communism. And godless. We all know Jesus hates bums and freeloaders, he expects us to pull ourselves up by our own bootstraps, and when you're in his good graces he will bless you with wealth and prosperity. Unions deprive people of that, and let leeches and bums slide by and get more than they deserve.
Many also believe unions make things worse and bring lower pay and lowered standards of living.
And get this, a former friend who got less time off for delivering a baby than the dad got thinks unions are outdated and don't serve any purpose anymore.

Links?
And what of the coin's other side...defenders of free speech
when they agree, but care not when they disagree?
To make it about hypocrisy of some unnamed few
distracts from the issue, ie, was her speech so offensive
that she should be fired? I don't think so.
