Yes zenzero, there is a 'U' turn that awaits all sentient beings.
Though we seem to be sleeping,
there is an inner wakefulness
that directs the dream, and
that will eventually startle us back
to the truth of who we are.

Marks are left by men with an EGO. Enlightened people FLY without leaving any footprints at most they walk on sands. What is the whole to which the enlightened individual has merged.

Can not agree with this. Life is immeorial which HAS been, IS and WILL ALWAYS BE.

Yes zenzero, I understand how and why you say that.
Actually when this first was given to me about 28 years ago, it did cause me to associate it with Jesus and Gautama in that their short life was an artwork in attaining to 'enlightenment' and glory, etc..
Ego was present big time in my life at that period and so it did give rise to messianic 'dreams', consistent with the state of ignorance present.
However fortunately the inner watchfulness was present to bring about the necessary and appropriate startling 'trials and tribulations' to correct much of the error and today it means something much different than it did originally. The Rumi piece wouldn't have meant anything at that time but now I understand them both as expressing the same truth.
Art is for a long time = enduring.
Life is for a short time = non-enduring.
So leave your mark = die to the ego, last incarnation.
Art of life = attainment of enlightenment.

I have a path and it is one that takes me no matter where it leads me too. I am just getting on board again from being away stuck in a endless sea of uncertainity zenzero, after many years of going no where. Call it searching again bring two together into a whole once more. That is what I'm trying to do break down the differences in this world. Each and every one of us may have our own, but it all leads up to God Consicousness.

This Cross always reminds of the TWO dimensions of time where one is horizontal where time is PAST & FUTURE. B.C. & A.D. The other is perpendicular where time is timeless. It is only HERE-NOW. So even if you have been lost in the horizontal line of time for few years or lives [agree not considered in christianity] it makes no difference once you come on the perpendicular line of time. And the point where those two lines meet is the individual where Jesus becomes the Christ.
