I believe in history, the past lays foundations for the future! If you follow history back it shows us these things and I am not just referring to the bible because the christians have rewritten it to hide what they dont want let out. I am talking about combining historical information.

Does it matter whether the story of Cain and Abel is a literal event to you? If so, why?

is every killing evil? Does one person have the right to take anothers life? To do so is evil, is it not? You may discuss self defence, kill or be killed. It would be a natural response to protect yourself and your loved ones, but the original act - yes it is evil!

He was said to be jealous of gods blessing for his brother over his offering.

History is a slave to the whims of people. It will mean whatever one needs it mean. And it will contain whatever one needs it to contain. History is the means by which the mind is entrapped, the soul ensnared and the faint light that illuminates the truth is snuffed out.

How is one to know what is and is not a lie, a distortion, a fictional tale, or just wishful thinking?

So a killing in self-defense would be "evil" or "not evil"?

It would be reasonable to feel jealousy. But do you kill because of it? Is that reasonable?

Why would "God" do that? Would it be reasonable to feel jealous over such a thing?
