Religious Pilgrimage, is this possibly satans trick?

I will look for what James was refering to about testing the spirit, that I know is in revelations. The no miracles I will look in the bible because I remembered that from a bible class that I had when I was in high school. I will post the information as I find it.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to know your opinion about Religious Pilgrimages. In my opinion most of the religious pilgrimages are tricks by satan so that we open our hearts. If we open our hearts to God, it also opens it to satan since God puts us to the test to ensure that the battle in heaven would never happen again. If you are a good person and satan whispers in your ear, you will still do good deeds, if you are bad then you will follow the temptations.
Question -

Would this apply to religious pilgrimages for religions which do not focus on God? I am planning to go on a Buddhist pligrimage this fall; do you feel these warnings apply to me as well?

I am not sure what difference it would make though, as Buddhism focuses on neither God nor Satan.

So, we should stay as far away from God as possible, because that's how Satan gets at us? Correct me if I read that wrong.
That was how I understood it as well.

Revelations
Chapter 2

2:1 To the angel of the assembly in Ephesus write: "He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, he who walks among of the seven golden lampstands says these things:

2:2 "I know your works, and your toil and perseverance, and that you can't tolerate evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles, and they are not, and found them false.

My interpretation of this is there will be spirits and men that would say they are of God but you need to test them yourself.

I am still looking for the no miracles because I remeber in the Bible it said this is the last miracle somewhere. If anyone can help please do so. Thanks

I am using my logical aspect, if satan do not respect God and his followers and people on earth do would it not be the best strategy to gain confidence and trust by deceiving people that satan is good through the images of the holy ones. Once satan has deceived you then you will always say this is the wil of God which is not true in my assessment. Through the Bible, it already warned us that there will be false prophets etc. Again this is my opinion, I know our guardian angels will protect us from harm but since we have free will it is totally up to us to see the true intentions of these apparitions.

I just don't get it when people say the virgin mother appeared then all I see are people who would take advantage of the poor and needy by charging them money to see the pilgimages and they use God for their own profit. God is everywhere, no place is that special in my assessment. Sorry but its my opinion.

Personally I let a spirit enter my body teaching me good in the end I found out it was evil so no one will ever understand this until you experience it yourself. I am not arrogant but I opened my hear totally in this case. It was good that I was aware otherwise there goes another soul for satan.

God Bless and St Michael protect us, God have mercy on us and make us worthy to be in your kingdom. Peace on earth everyone

Hi Engyo,
My belief is that religions are all the same, we believe in one God so it applys to any religion. The only warning I can give to people to going to pilgrimages are its fine if you open your hearts to goodness, just be aware that evil may come upon it and strengthen your beliefs in the good in you. In my experience, this evil spirit told me if I want to kill Lucifer/satan in me is to kill myself, so if you are one of the ones that these spirits decide to trick please make sure you are always are aware what is good and bad. In my opinion if a spirit asks your life or someone else's life, they are evil. I would not expect an angel to stop a murder as one did in Abraham's case. God already told us that he will never ask our life by commiting suicide or killing someone else. Some people who are so religious might get trick since they would let thier hearts do their actions and not their minds, so if they thought it was a messenger from God they would do the unforgivable act of ending ones life. Hope this would protect you from evil in your travel. Just do not be afraid, the evil spirits are more afraid than us if we are firm and vigilant, that I can assure you.

I just thought of the pilgrimages because my brother who was taken by an evil went to them and logically makes perfect sense to use Holy relics since evil do not respect them and people do. Again I always say God is everywhere.

Enjoy your trip and safe passage and voyage to you...

Thanks for your thoughts.

Respectfully, Buddhism does not necessarily believe in one god, though. In Buddhism, gods are another class of un-enlightened beings, who inhabit different realms than humans do, but are as capable of attaining enlightenment as humans are.

SoyLeche and Melody,

Actually I should have said open your hears to God, but be aware that satan will still try to trick you. Yes God wants you to be in his kingdom but remember we have free will and this is what satan exploits. At this point your faith in God will determine if you will see satan's tricks or not. I do not believe God will interfere himself or any angels since God in my belief put us on this earth to show him that we are worthy to enter his kingdom on our own will. If he starts helping us it sways the favor to him, why would he do this if he wanted us to decide our fate ourselves. At least this is my opinion. There are plenty of good believers, like my brother that still was tricked. Anneliese Michel (1976) almost was tricked and was truly possesed. I believe the choice to protect your faith is in you. This will assure that you are worthy in entering Gods Kingdom. I always argue that when God created Lucifer, he was good but then he wanted to be like God so he himself decided to fight God, God did not interfere in his intention instead he banished Lucifer in hell and on earth with man. My only point is God wil never interfere, the choie is our own.

I just wanted to share my information on opening your hearts to God, do not make you immune to evil, you need to be aware. I hope my experiences do not happen to anyone on this earth by telling my story.

if you know about Judaism then perhaps you will understand when i say...
satan is not the evil g-d and G-d the good g-d
to believe such a thing is to believe in Dualism, not monotheism.
HaSatan is fully within the control of HaShem and acts in accordance with what HaShem permits him to act.

i agree that G-d is everywhere but when He tells you that He will make His presense rest in a certain place...you can't exactly ignore that (in this case i am refering to the Temple Mount)
