The rules or guidelines in any religion or spiritual teaching only apply to those who follow the religion they believe in.

The rules don't account for those who are not believers of the religious teaching.

Religious rules, in any religion, is specifically for followers.
They are the creeds and doctrines one strives to live by, if they wish to abide by the morals and/or ethical values their religion preaches. That’s why some religious folks seek to convert others. So that others may follow the same tenets, usually with the understanding that following said tenets allow followers to be “on god’s good side.”

Indeed. Conversion practices are only really prevalent in specific sects of some religions.
I don’t consider it a definitive aspect, merely a potential aspect. And you know, that’s fine too. People should be free to do as they please.

Most folks I know, regardless of religious background, seem to regard religion as an intensely personal and private matter. As do I

If there are church bells ringing or the Mulim call to prayer is chanted, then the religion in question doesn't affect believers only, but the entire neighborhood.

No man is an island although some may wish or pretend to be.

How would your buddies react if they offered you a beer and you declined because of your religion?

Then let's make it more difficult. Assumed your colleagues at work and your boss were "omnivores" and you were allowed to eat kosher or halal food only. Howmany times can you decline their invitations unless they think you're "weird"?

Assumed you were a Jehovah's Witness and your child wasn't allowed to wish others a "Happy Birthday"; or to paint Santa Claus or the Easter bunny in group activities, or to attend sexual education classes? And so on. I think you get the idea.

I think your premise doesn't hold water.

You say that as if humans and religions are mutually exclusive.

Religion is also caused by humans. It is an expression of all the good and bad of humanity (though it also introduces its own unique obstacles to goodness).

Eternal law is eternal law. While a chicken church has no business trying to force or punish a given person for violating one of their rules the core nature of eternal law means that it applies to all. I can’t just ignore the law of gravity. It will find me and I am subject to it.

Well, there are 3 aspects to law. Objective, inter-subjective and subjective. I get the idea that for some cases you do those aspects different than me.

The rules of a given game are subject to change, but the laws of physics are static. Our understanding might change a great deal over time, but Newton did not invent a law getting snaked by an apple. He wrote down what was going on.

Gravity is not the world. And your (lol) is subjective, so you just confirmed that we can debate what subjective is and we can deal with it differently, because it is subjective.
So here is your limitation for the rules of a given game. There is no one game, because we are in part individual. LOL, right?

We have options in how we see things, but eternal law applies to all even if they are ignorant of it.
