Rep. Katie Hill scandal

Freshman California Congresswoman Katie Hill is starring in a lurid, snowballing sex scandal — a very public saga complete with leaked nude snapshots, alleged bong use and a questionable tattoo.

Most seriously, Hill is now the subject of a career-threatening House ethics investigation into allegations she bedded not one, but two of her young legislative staffers — one of them male, the other female.

It has been just under a year since the 32-year-old Democrat catapulted onto Capitol Hill, earning accolades as an openly bisexual progressive who flipped a longstanding red district and quickly rose to vice chair of the powerful House Oversight Committee.

Now at least two political rivals are calling for her resignation.

I've only just heard about this in the past couple of days, but the timing seems kind of weird.

She's apparently threatening to sue the Daily Mail for publishing the nude photos and making defamatory statements. She said the photos were posted by Republican operatives on the internet. Her husband is suing her for divorce.

“Intimate photos of me and another individual were published by Republican operatives on the internet without my consent,” Hill seethed in response.

“I have notified Capitol Hill police who are investigating the situation,” she wrote in a press statement after RedState broke the story.

She has since admitted the “throupling,” which began shortly after she hired Desjardins to work on her congressional campaign in late 2017, was “inappropriate.”

“I know that even a consensual relationship with a subordinate is inappropriate, but I still allowed it to happen despite my better judgment,” Hill said in a statement. “For that, I apologize. I wish nothing but the best for her and hope everyone respects her privacy in this difficult time.”

On Thursday came a fresh round of revelations.

The Daily Mail published new photos showing Hill holding a smoking bong and wearing nothing but what appeared to be a tattoo that looked like an Iron Cross on her bikini area.

I learned a new word from this: "throupling."

WWMRD?
There's nudes?

Funny thing though, she admitted that one of her relationships was predatory yet she was one of the stop Kavanaugh mob. There are pictures of her holding a "Stop Kavanaugh" sign.

Ah, the peoples republik of kalifornia, the failed socialist state that just keeps on giving.

Do you think the hordes of illegals and homeless living on the sidewalks in all the major cities even care about this ?

Sounds like she has great qualifications for a kalifoirnia politician.

What's with the random K spelling of words?

Meh, I don't care about the bong use, really. But bedding staffers...

Sidenote, but why is an 'iron cross tattoo' mentioned or noteworthy??

Must be angling towards the Woodstock hippie vote.

Usually found on bikers and white supremists...
Also something on people in the military. A lot of people use this symbol.

Meanings:Heraldry, Loyalty, Honor, Faith, Courage, Bravery, Loyalty, Will, Liberation. The iron cross is redeemed when we see it in civic departments to acknowledge bravery on duty. Fire and Police organizations often utilize this cross to show commendable service and incredible bravery on the job.Mar 4, 2012

We've got much bigger "fish" to fry. And I for one am tired of pretend Victorian morality when what is going on happens with so many different people who are not visible to the media.

I'm not defending her as far as any adultery or coercion goes, but I notice that republicans only seem to be outraged by such behavior when it's a democrat, but when it's one of their own they're mysteriously silent or dismissive about it. Of course these same people wear their faith on their sleeve as if god abides their blatant hypocrisy.
Trump supporters don't have the right to play the moral indignation card.

What? Me worry?

When was she in the military? And not as many people as you think. The symbol gained widespread use in the late '60s and early '70s when it was associated with the Hell's Angels and other motorcycle gangs.

It's just a cheap tactic to distract and disrupt. Do you think Trump would have such unwavering support if they genuinely cared about morality?

Maybe she's just a Red Baron aficionado. ;)

I agree with you on this. :0)

My response is big whoop. Same as Clinton. Indiscretion has been going on since I don't know when.

I could just see all the Europeans laughing at us as we get 'morally' bent over such triviality.

When the two of us find something to agree on, it must be the correct view of things given how far apart we are politically.

Association with Nazis (only) at least by those that are uninformed or are liars. It became a symbol of Nazism for a lot of Americans especially those that embraced part of the Nazi babble. Really it is to throw shade at this time or at least in my view. I haven't seen anything clarifying why she has it.

*Just to add. Germany still has the medal but removed the Nazi era modification. The tatoo is not the Nazi version.

I didn’t say she was. I actually have no clue if she was or was not. I don’t know much about her. I have no idea why she got this tattoo, when or under what circumstances. I have no idea what this tattoo means to her.

Are you accusing her of being a white supremacist?

Inappropriate workplace behavior. Makes one wonder though what else politicians are doing behind closed doors when they think no one is watching.
