Gallup found that more Americans identify or register as Republicans than any other Party. It found that 48% of Americans are Republicans or lean Republican in contrast to 45% who are Democrats or lean Democrat. Gallup rates this as a strong measurement in favor of Republicans during this election environment.

The state I live in, Oklahoma, was majority registered Democrat a few years ago, but as the Democratic party slid farther and farther left the majority has switched to either republican or independent.
