Resurgence of Racism

There is no resurgence except what the Left is trying to stir up to destroy America. Many African Americans have stepped forward to say they believe racism is lower today than ever before.

Furthermore, those of African descent are among the highest wage earners in the USA - Nigerian families.

As for the continuing of racism in America, Darwin and evolutionary theory is taught in public schools, and this can be a source of racism.

Darwin believed and wrote about how Africans and Australian Aborigines and those with dark skin were closer, biologically, to baboons/apes than those with lighter skin color.

The inference is that the closer you are to apes, the less intelligent you are. This assumption was just based on skin color, not character, not your accomplishments, not who you are as a person, etc. but just on skin color alone.

IMHO, this qualifies as a source of racism in our schools, starting with the indoctrination of our children.

Here is Darwin's quote out of his own book which shows his form of biological racism which I referred to in my previous post:

Darwin wrote in his book, The Descent of Man:

"At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate, and replace, the savage races throughout the world. At the same time, the anthropomorphous apes ... will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as now between the Negro or Australian (Aborigine) and the gorilla."

Note: Despite his stand against slavery, Darwin's own words are full of contempt for "savage" people: That is, those of African or Aboriginal or other non-Caucasian ethnicities.

On the other hand, the Bible gives all humans from all ethnicities equal value in His eyes:

Genesis 1
In the Image of God did He make man. Male and female He made them.

The best witness for Darwin's racism is Stephen Jay Gould, who was a Harvard paleontologist and evolutionist and even he recognized Darwinism as a source of racist ideas:

"Biological arguments for racism may have been common before 1859, but they increased by orders of magnitude following the acceptance of evolutionary theory."

By Stephen Jay Gould, Ontogeny and Phylogeny (Cambridge, Mass: Harvard University Press, 1977), p. 127.

Many university-level historians have recognized Darwin's problematic racist views and how it negatively affected our society:

Richard Weikart, History professor at CSU said:

"Today's Darwinists are not Nazis and not all Darwinists agree with Dawkins, Wilson, Ruse, Singer, or Watson. However, some of the ideas being promoted today by prominent Darwinists in the name of Darwinism have an eerily similar ring to the ideologies that eroded respect for human life in the pre-Nazi era."

Darwin and the Nazis American Spectator April 16 2008

The Survival of the Fittest According to Evolutionary Theory:

The other problem with Darwin's racist views were that biologically superior beings were, by nature, rightful in their overtaking and conquering of those who were biologically inferior beings.

Here is what Kenneth J. Hsu had to say about this particular problem:

"We were victims of a cruel social ideology that assumes that competition among individuals, classes, nations or races is the natural condition of life, and that it is also natural for the superior to dispossess the inferior . . . . The law of natural selection is not, I will maintain, science. It is an ideology, and a wicked one. . ."

Kenneth J. Hsu, "Is Darwinism Science?" Earthwatch (March 1989)

Hsu is Earth Science Head at the Swiss Institute of Earth Sciences

On the other hand, the New Testament says we are all equal in God's eyes:

Acts 17: "And has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth..."

Darwin was a man of his age & its prejudices,
but at least he opposed slavery.
The Bible was of its time too...& it justified slavery.

The score....
Darwin: 1
Bible: 0

Yep. Social Darwinism is an ideology and it has nothing to do with the original biological ideas of Darwin and even less with the Modern Synthesis or the New Synthesis. It is sad how little people understand about evolutionary biology that they fall for ideologists who twist it to fit their agenda.

Evolutionary theory sees humans as nothing more than advanced animals.

Darwinism undermines both the idea that man is made in the image of God and the idea that man is a uniquely rational being. Furthermore, if Darwinism is correct, it is unlikely that any other support for the idea of human dignity will be found.

(ref: James Rachels, Created from Animals, 1990).

To take it a step further, atheism sees humans as simply a fortuitous collection of molecules:

Atheism treats humans like nothing more than molecules:

“Human life is sacred only if there is a God to sanctify it. Otherwise man is just another collection of atoms and can be treated as such.”

(ref: Robert R. Reilly, Atheism and Arms Control, Intercollegiate Review, Fall 1988).

Atheism is not a centralized religion, and therefore has no centralized doctrine to attack.

Unless you can actually supply surveys that support your claim, I would argue that it is very unlikely that you can successfully demonstrate that this viewpoint is common among atheists, let alone universal among them.
