It has been an insult to me, that's all. I was a model for a while, and didn't like it. No one cared about me, just what I looked like. My ex-wanted me to wear make up and be pretty all the time, but I am a tomboy, and would rather be covered in dirt. I think everyone is beautiful, and beauty contests can sometimes be decided on popularity instead of real beauty.

This is all based on my past experience. This has actually been kind of fun. A way for us to all step out from behind our Avatar.

You shouldnt consider it an insult to be regarded as attractive. There are people out there (or in here if were talking about the forum) who can appreciate both physical looks as well as personality. I can see why you were a model, but if people were unable to appreciate your inner qualities doesnt that say more about them than about you?

I know there are some women who like the way I look, but I am equally aware that there are others who do not like my 'look'.

I have no problems with anyone having a certain impression of me because of the way I look, because I would hope that if people took the time to get to know me they would get a different image. If they cannot, then that is their loss - not mine.
The only thing I have to concentrate on is finding out which people can see me for who I truly am. :jiggy: A good clue is usually those who let you be who you want to be..

This has kind of gotten blown out of proportion. I feel really bad for chosing one person as more beautiful than another. That's all. My past experiences have not been totally tramatizing. Observed beauty just seems very superficial. People think being pretty, or handsome is so wonderful, but it's not all that. It can even be a pain in the butt sometimes. I have had old boyfriends get mad at me, because some other guy was looking at me. That was not my fault. I have a girl friend who does not like going out with me anymore because she does not like seeing all the attention I get. I do not see the attention. She says when I walk by, guys break their necks to watch me. But I cannot see what goes on behind me. Also she gets mad because guys will open or hold a door for me, but she never gets that kind of chivalry.

Jealousy. You shouldnt waste time with men like that. It would be a compliment to me if other guys show an interest in my girlfriend. I would only get angry if she deliberately encouraged them or if they approached her and didnt take the hint.
Hell, id even like it if a guy went upto my girlfriend and asked her out not knowing im with her.. because I know she'd reject him.

Again, seems like she is jealous. Can she not balance this against the pleasure of having your company? Obviously her friendship with you is not as valuable to her as her fragile ego is... or she needs to get her priorities in order.
You shouldnt be made to feel guilty for something you have no control over.. although if you really wanted to you could present yourself in a less favourable way.. but you shouldnt feel the need to do this to protect other peoples ego's..

Enhanced Spirit, I understand where you're coming from. I had the same experience. (I went through puberty in fifth grade, and looked (and acted) more like I was in my early twenties. It was a really bad experience)

But the point is to trust those of us on this forum that we're not that shallow Because as far as I can tell, no one here is!
