At least you're in my corner!According to that quiz, I've landed here on the spectrum:
As always, you're my evil twin.
The image is more about theory than practice. Libertarianism - The World's Smallest Political Quiz > Home has a quiz which maps what you believe into a different grid.
Liberals usually embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but tend to support significant government control of the economy. They generally support a government-funded "safety net" to help the disadvantaged, and advocate strict regulation of business. Liberals tend to favor environmental regulations, defend civil liberties and free expression, support government action to promote equality, and tolerate diverse lifestyles.
Leaning in my direction, eh.....woo hoo!Me, probably fairly accurate.

Looks like you're still a bit north of the Mason Dixon line.Ooh, I never can resist a quiz!

Whenever I flat out ask, all I get is useless rants and a list of names of those who are one one side or the other.
Is it even possible to meaningfully explain them?
On the spectrum we can see it clear but when dealing with people there isn't always a clear winner between maybe and disagree vs maybe and agree.hmmm.....
Thus far this thread seems to merely be illustrating my point, that there is no clear cut definition/description of left/right.
I suspect the problem comes from the majority of people using themselves as the basis of comparison. On the spectrum we can see it clear but when dealing with people there isn't always a clear winner between maybe and disagree vs maybe and agree.
It's really supposed to be about big government vs small government. That's what they said when I was a kid. All the other stuff is made up racism for example are almost equal in both major parties, as is abortion.I suspect the problem comes from the majority of people using themselves as the basis of comparison.
