Right wing, Left wing

So my son comes home from school last week telling me of a discussion in his history class concerning right wing and left wing rift in this country. After listening to the back and forth between students from both views, he said to me, "But Dad, we are both wings on the same bird, it cant fly with just one". I just thought that was wise coming from a young person.

Seems to me far to many people get so caught up in their own wing being so much more important to them that they forget they rely on the other wing in order to move....

I hope you informed your kid the nation isn't actually an avian creature. ;) I'm just joshin' ya.

He missed the point of the whole lesson. The point is that my wing is the correct one... right? ... hello?

Good analogy. One wing wants to pull the country in one direction and the other wing wants to pull to the other direction. It is the result of the two pulls that determine where the nation stands.

The left wing thinks the media/politicians/etc. have a too-right wing bent and the right wing thinks the media/politicians/etc. have a too-left wing bent. So, the country is right where the people in total place it.

Just wait until he learns about 3-winged birds...

Pretty sure that I have seen that floating around facebook these days. Although, when one wing has Alien Hand Syndrome it makes it hard to fly.

I suspect that you're just coming on to me.
I'm flattered!

Nah, if I was coming on to you I would comment on your perspicuous solicitude!

Besides, I basically labeled you as better than a mosquito on a slugs butt. Not a glowing recommendation by any measure. :)
