"At around 7pm on Friday, Bexar County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a call in west Bexar County after neighbours reported seeing animals being sacrificed with knives – and found 12-14 people in a garage apparently committing the grisly deed.

“One of the other persons was holding up a chicken and draining blood into a container.

“There was containers there. There was heads of what looked like goats and animals dead and alive inside.”

Gonzalez told The San Antonio Express that police saw a woman cutting up animal parts while another person was draining the blood of a chicken into a container.

Deputies found additional mutilated animals inside the home, including goat heads and more chickens.

And Why or why not?

.

Welcome to the human race. People still believe in sacrifice and consumption of the sacrificee.

The myth continues on in Christianity where a gods son had to be sacrificed to forgive "sins" that people inherited. Some Christians still eat the body and blood of the sacrifice? It's archaic!?
Of course it's wrong and a waste of life, always was and always will be.

That's your opinion.

... what else would it be? Are you just stating that in a passive-aggressive attempt to portray what I'm saying as not being of worth?

I don't agree that killing something and then eating it is inherently inhumane.

So if someone killed then ate your cat or dog you'd be okay with it?

You must feel very guilty when you eat, so I wonder why you're not a vegan.

I do because I see the flaws in the way we've been conditioned to think and I realise that I'm part of the problem. I'm actually trying to go vegan at the moment.

The "inhumane" part is to do with the treatment of the animal. They can be killed in slow and torturous ways or in relatively quick and painless ways.

Either way you're still killing it unnecessarily. Most people don't need to eat animals to survive any more. We could switch to a plant-based diet and make up the shortfall of any nutrients we do happen to miss out on with artificial supplements. But they won't because those people (meaning me as well) can be slow to change from a way of doing things they like & are used to.

Pitching in here; No, if someone ate my dog I wouldn't be okay with it. But if they killed my dog without cruelty or prolonged suffering, then I'd be very hard-pressed to rationally call it inhumane.

Or more likely most people don't have the money to buy the exorbitant amount of supplements (key word there) needed to omit meat from their diet.

So what if they inflicted a painless death on your dog even though it was wholly unnecessary? Would you still be okay with it then? What if somebody shot your dog in the face, slaying it instantly, just 'cuz?

I would have a problem if someone killed my dog or cat, sure, because I'm emotionally attached to them. I value my dog or cat more than most humans or domesticated animals.

We don't need supplements. We can live without meat.
I've yet to see a good example of living well without a ton of supplements to make up for the lack of meat proteins. Yeah, I lived once on nothing but stolen peanut butter, but I wouldn't call that living well.

Clearly, no, I would not be okay with that. Yet even still, it is not inhumane as there's no cruelty or suffering.

What are you driving at? Seriously.

Assuming it is done in a humane manner and the blood and/or meat are consumed afterwards, I believe it is better than the slaughter of animals for food where there is no religious element as I believe it is important to remember the religious/spiritual dimension of all things (I believe there is a religious/spiritual dimension to all things).
