Road rage... what would YOU do?

What a terrible experience! I'm just glad that you and your son are all right. It just had to happen the one time you didn't have your cell phone with you, didn't it? I keep a car charger for my phone in my car just for that reason. How scary. I hope that will be your last encounter with that sick-o! Good luck picking up your son.

The worst road rage I've ever come across is horn honking, some swearing and some fingers waving in the air. Yay Cananda. (except Toronto and Montreal)

Yikes! I'm glad you're okay, NetDoc. Hope you don't run into him again... or if you do that he gets arrested or at least put off of harassing you by the police.

The worst road rage I've ever done was parking my car in the Emergency lane on the Highway in order to stop all those jerks who use it to get ahead of traffic. Boy that pissed some people off.

Well,

unless he pursues it, I don't think I am going to. If he does, I have quite a few witnesses as to what went on and his behavior is completely inexcusable.

Now that is a coincidence - if you have witnesses though, now that you know where he works, you do have recourse. I suppose though you are worried that he will be subtle in taking revenge on your son. A difficult one.:(

I had a guy give me the finger once because he thought I had speeded up while he was passing. He gradually slowed down and motioned for me to pull over to the side of the road. I did, and then he jumped out of his car and came running over to mine shouting and cursing.
I got out and told him he was wrong, that I hadn't speeded up at all. Before I could say anything else, he threw a punch at me. I'm definitely not a fighter, but I do try to defend myself. (I think that most of the time, the worst thing a person can do is run away from a fight.)
His punch just missed my head as I jerked back, then I leaned foward and smacked him in his left eye.
He sat down by my car and started crying and apologized for starting the trouble. He said his boss had chewed him out that day and so he was just in a very bad mood. We talked about it for awhile and he apologized several more times and swore it would be the last time he stopped anyone because of his temper. We ended up laughing about it and left in a good mood.

Is it just me, or does it seem like road rage is getting worse and worse?

I am the type of person that tries to avoid conflict at all cost. It isn't because I fear people, it is that I fear what I will do to them. I literally will try to drag people out of their cars when they cut me off. I am really bad.

I have gotten to the point where I try to leave a lot of space to stay away from people, and it seems to provoke them even more. I can't find a solution to it.

Is there anyone who has absolutely no problems on the road?

How do you do it?
