Role of lawyers and judges

It's a system that is overflowing with problems, it stinks of corruption, there is just too much money involved in it, but both lawyers and judges do fulfill very important roles in our society. We just really need to overhaul our system so it isn't so costly, so it's easier to defend yourself, and so the poor stand a better chance and celebrities and the affluent get more than a wagging finger.

It will never happen.
Lawyers, judges, & support staff make up a huge & profitable industry.
Who would reform it?
Certainly they won't.
Politicians?
People elect mostly lawyers, who won't bite the hand that fed them.

That's the problem. No doubts that we should have some lawyers there, but we also need teachers, scientists, doctors, laborers, and other sorts of people to diversify the state.

Lawyers are ideally suited for winning elections.
They....
- Are comfortable with lying.
- Know the system, & how to game it.
- Are already in the club.
- The media tend to side with them over other professions, especially business managers/owners.
- Voters don't seem to care if they elect another one.
