Why is that?
I personally liked her brand of politically incorrect humor. I think she got a raw deal over one fairly ordinary tweet.
I used to like her show, although I didn't see it often since I don't watch TV. The one episode of the new reboot I saw was, if anything, annoyingly PC. Roseanne had to befriend the Pakistani Muslims next door because her internet was shut off for nonpayment and the Muslims had the only WiFi signal strong enough to connect to her home.
I just don't see what the big deal with that one tweet was. If she were black it wouldn't have mattered much, of that I am sure.

Well, she got fired. If she didn't know what her limits would be with her employer, then now she knows. Are you saying ABC had no right to fire her and should have respected her first amendment right?
I honestly don't know if she truly meant to be racist but there's no doubt in my mind that it was meant to be offensive.
We need to reset the standard on both the left and the right. It shouldn't be OK to be offensive especially if the intent was to be offensive. Kathy Griffin is a good example of offensive behavior and deserved her firing.
Maybe Barr shouldn't have been fired and at least reprimanded. However, she was pushing her bounds with her history of tweets. This isn't the first time she compared another person to an ape. ABC isn't exactly Comedy Central where their comedians are defended for their jokes. For the most part, ABC is a family friendly corporation being owned by Disney...
