Royal Wedding Coverage

What a bunch of wet blankets! :p

On to more important matters, like the following Facebook post:

In honor of the royal wedding on Fri, Use your royal name. Start with either Lord or Lady. Your 1st name is one of your grandparents' names. Your surname is the name of your 1st pet, double-barreled with the name of the street on which you grew up.

Which would make me: Lady Margaret Midnight of Olcott :curtsy:

Lord Olive Kermit Dalhart... the third.

Not a single damn nudist among the wedding party! No wonder some folks want to do away with the monarchy.

The papers said someone did a cartwheel down the aisle. I dont know if he was nude... that is a minor detail.
Victoria Beckham came dressed for a funeral ( you do not wear black to a wedding) David got it equally wrong by wearing a Black waist coat.

Geez! How does anyone keep them all straight?

OK, I googled Union Flag and it looks like there was a Great British flag at one point. Anyway, this is what the Great and Powerful Wiki has on it. Scroll down a bit: http://en.wikipedia.org/Union_Flag

Britain is the island that mainland England, Scotland and Wales is on.

Great Britain means the same thing but can also mean England, Scotland and Wales in their entirety.

The British Isles are made up of Great Britain, Ireland and all the little islands round about (around 6000 of them).

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is made up of the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
I find the wedding interesting for a couple of reasons.

1) Its extravagance. How many times do you expect to see a wedding or event like that?
2) The location, history, significance and cultural story. I love English history, so seeing the location (really magnificent) and the costumes and traditions is also very interesting.
3) It is a significant historical event featuring people who have strong political connections with my country.

Madhuri, I agree. I find a lot of things very interesting, and will even support them monetarily, without necessarily agreeing with whatever their "message" is. For instance, in a few weeks, we're going to Europe and we will be paying money to tour Crazy King Ludwig's Neuschwanstein castle, and Hitler's Eagle's Nest. We'll also tour Dachau, though the message against the Third Reich is pretty obvious there.

I've visited Buddhist shrines, and Japanese temples and I don't support either religion. I've also visited "Iron Curtain" countries though I didn't support Communism. And I wasn't on any sort of "mission trip," either! ;)

I love history - especially British, Russian, and German history. Some of that stuff is pretty awful. But it's still fascinating. The royal wedding is history in the making.
