Running into people you never want to see again

My problem is quite different.
I simply don't see everyone.
People have often said " I saw you out the other day and you looked right through me.
I seem to switch to an auto mode when I am thinking, I always get where I am going with out incident,
But I might have missed a few friends on the way, some times they even say they have called and waved.
Most people Know about it now and are not upset, but they still comment.

I don't know any one I don't like, may be I have just put them ot of mind permanently. How do you tell?
When I was young I could forget things on purpose, Just totally blank them.

It is a predicament, I have the same problem. All my close friends know about it now, but it can annoy my workmates and other people who don't know me as well.
