S Africa Makes Case: Israel Committing Genocide

It's telling that S Africa is charging Israel with genocide.
Israel supported apartheid in S Africa back in the day.
Excerpted....
Israel appeared before the International Court of Justice in The Hague on Thursday to face accusations it is committing genocide in Gaza in a case that could impact the trajectory of the war.
South Africa, which brought the case, alleges that Israel is violating international law by committing and failing to prevent genocidal acts “to destroy Palestinians in Gaza.”
Israel has rejected the allegations — as has its most important ally, the United States.
Can't read post in the OP due to paywall, but I was reading this: Israel accused of ‘genocidal intent’ in Gaza as World Court hearings begin - National | Globalnews.ca.

“Israel has a genocidal intent against the Palestinians in Gaza… that is evident from the way in which this military attack is being conducted,” Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, advocate of the High Court of South Africa, said.

“It is rooted in the belief that the enemy is not just Hamas, but is embedded in the fabric of Palestinian life in Gaza.”

If you're sole reasoning for opposing a genocide accusation is because one person in the allegedly genocided group did something that you didn't like, you are a racist.
But Sirhan Sirhan did it because RFK supported Israel. He didn't do it randomly.
RFK was an angel. He never did anything bad to the Palestinian people.
So why did Sirhan kill him?

I'm sure that was just like the Baton Rouge Police Department of which I'm sure you're well aquainted with, but I don't think tortures of individuals would qualify as genocide as barbaric as torture is at the hands of psychopaths.

I'm sure and in kind you will be eagerly denying the following tortures perpetrated by terrorist Palestinians......

I'm sure we both could go all day with psychopathic individuals enjoying their hobbies.

That's a pretty specious objection.
No one claimed that Israel's policy of torturing non-Jews
is genocide. That's about the mass murder & eviction
of Palestinians from their land.
Just like defending Trump, Zionists must ignore or
mis-represent reality to justify war crimes & apartheid.

Their land?

Was that just a teensy bitsy Freudian slip?

Are you under the impression that the RF Kennedy assassination is evidence that Israel is not committing genocide?

We are speaking of a strip of land that Gazans turned into the most efficient underground military base in the world.
Meant to destroy Israel.

So maybe the Israelis don't want to be undone?

Israel's claim that this is an existential fight that
necessitates murdering many innocent civilians
in order to exterminate Hamas is a lie, or at best
a delusion.
Israel has other tools at its disposal to address
violent resistance to its oppression.....
1) End apartheid, group punishment, torture,
& oppression, eg, a harsher legal standard used
against non-Jews.
2) Allow Israelis the right to bear arms. So many
were killed on Oct 7 because ownership of guns
is far more restricted than in countries like USA.

Listen...in 1943-45 so many Italians were violently chased away from Istria.
They were displaced.
Now we are in good terms with Croatia. They are great friends.

The Palestinians are the only nation in the world who doesn't want to make peace with anyone.

So your statement is only accurate if by 'make peace' you mean to say 'accept occupation and other brutal injustices if they want to live'.

For those with access, Fareed Zakaria has an impactful opinion piece in the Washington Post:

Israel's war in Gaza isn't genocide, but is it proportional?

It notes ...

This week, hearings at the International Court of Justice began to determine whether Israel’s government is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. I think the charge is invalid; there is no systematic effort to exterminate Gaza’s population. (If there were, given the vast disparity in power, Israel would surely have killed many more than 23,000 people, though that number is, of course, still staggeringly high. The death toll figure comes from the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza.) Genocide is an incendiary accusation that should not be used loosely. Nevertheless, during these hearings, some deeply troubling facts might emerge about Israel’s bombing campaign.

And concludes ...

Israel is a democracy and an open society, and precisely because of that it will one day have to ask itself whether it acted appropriately in the heat of its anger and sorrow after Oct. 7. Friends of Israel should help it ask those questions now, so that it does not look back on this episode with shame and regret.

The "troubling facts" referred to should, indeed, provoke "shame and regret" and, in fact, anguish.

I wouldn't consider it genocide either, but for Israel's
apparent goal of evicting all Palestinians from Gaza.
With their homes & all else destroyed, & now talk
of their "voluntary" emigration to Africa, it's arguably
genocide.

You do know that RFK Senior was murdered by a Palestinian, right?
sirhan sirhan?

Israel is in palestine.
Are you really asking me to side with Palestinians? :)
Come on...
Side................ I would think basic civility and humanity wants to end the atrocity, no matter the labels.
Knowing how much how I love RKF?
How about JFK?

Died within days after he found out about dimona. He was ticked. I listened to the tapes of his voice recorded on the matter, myself. But he did not make it, to the media

Germany entering as a third party and the German spokesman is arguing that they are 'particularly committed' to the genocide convention because of their history. I find it rather bizarre that German shame seems to transform into self-applauding and exceptionalism when in excess, from which Germany is able to posture as an authority on genocide due to their historical expertise in committing genocide.

Germany is a sovereign country and they are free to do whatever they please.
Even as for the Ukrainian War.
But if you want to tell me that Germany is a US colony with zero independence, well...go ahead. :)

As regularly happens, USA takes the wrong side of history,
supporting apartheid, war crimes, genocide, torture, WMDs,
& human rights violations in general. USA sends bombs
to Israel to use on Palestinians, but no aid for the victims.
Just Blinken on shuttle diplomacy missions to feign concern
for the victims.
We in USA should avoid paying taxes to the extent legally
possible while our government perpetrates evil.
Also both the ANC and the PLO have been supporting each others causes since the 1950's. There is even a Nelson Mandela statue in West Bank.
