Sacrificed a Fatted Calf Lately?

As Becky mentioned, sacrifices were done at the temple, and only at the temple.

I was visiting a conservative jewish friend of mine yesterday and he made a statement that related to this directly.

I don't have my bible with me, so I can't find the exact quote, but in Isaiah, there is a statement regarding what should be done in lieu of sacrifices in the absence of the temple.

Instead of sacrifices of atonement, the jews are supposed to pray. Instead of another kind of sacrifice (I think it was the sacrifice for peace), the jews are to practice charity. Instead of all other forms of sacrifices, the jews are supposed to practice justice.

Temple? What about Cain and Abel? Noah after the flood? No temple's there.

I think Sandy has made a great point. If you have no sacrifice for your sins then there still there.

Read the askmoses links on the subject about the first sentence. Those should more than clarify the issue at hand. The second sentence shows nothing but ignorance of Judaism and hatred, as does the following:

The point y'all just made is that it would be better if you Jesus bus folks actually learned something about Judaism before you go off saying such inaccurate things about another religion.

G-d knows it would never occur to just pop into a thread and ask Jews why they don't do sacrifice anymore. That would be too difficult.:rolleyes:

Does the Torah specify what kind of organisms you're supposed to sacrifice? If not, why not sacrifice a few million micro organisms by spilling a bit of antibiotic over a surface :cool:.

Then teach me! Tell me why they don't sacrifice anymore. I have a open mind and would really love to know. Being that RF is for religious education, right!
The point I made was trying to make is that Jesus was the final sacrifice, the entire reason the OT was inspired.
So Booku why don't they sacrifice any more?

I does in great detail. Even the way to do it is there. Nothing about micro organisms though?
