Same-Sex Marriages and the Civil Law

opuntia

Religion is Law
We may conclude that civil actions and civil law are expressions of human interactions, i.e. secular. Can we assume that if U.S. law grants marriage rights to gay couples that that action is an answer to any religious questions? As I said that our civil laws are created by people in our legislatures and courts, then I might say that our U.S. law does not determine if God accepts or rejects same-sex marriages. God is likely against same-sex marriages and that particular lifestyle.

And just some decades ago god was for slavery, now he's against it. Don't worry, god will adapt, he always does.

Don't speak for a God you don't understand, its grossly hypocritical to apply the same idiodic human traits to something you know nothing about.

Its pathetic that civil unions for same sex couples are not legalized. Its disgraceful that homosexuals in this day and age are still treated like 2nd class citizens.

Its disgraceful that parts of major religions stood up against such rights to make their God happy.

Its disgraceful that people use religion as a shield for their intolerance towards members of the community who equally contribute and are as peaceful as you and I.

People who oppose civil unions for religious reasons or any other are equally intolerant and do not deserve any respect for such shameful views. We as humans are better than this, we should show it.

We as humans have a right to choose. If you decide to be gay and you like that lifestyle I have the right to disagree with your lifestyle, I dont have the right to hate you. God is not a shield for us to hide behind. God bless

How can you talk as if you understand gods ideals. i though the definition of god was a omnipotent being beyond all human understanding? for all you know god could be a little camp himself. jesus certainly was since he never got married like his society demanded he should have.

"whites are superior to other races as this is the way god made us" the kind of sentiment common during the height of slavery and colonisation. which thankfully now has become archaic and vile to the general public.

blacks and other ethnic groups were 2nd class for generations, now we've got rid of that idea we need a new 2nd class to replace them.

Why would same-sex marriage be the answer to any religious question? I mean, does freedom of religion somehow imply that the universalists are right?

How comforting it must be to have a god who thinks just like you do.
