Santos

The current problems with Republicans aren't
related to this guy's bogus resume. It's not how
they get in office...it's what they do there,
I have to disagree. The current problem with Republicans is how they get into office. I.e. by getting elected. Santos is just a symptom, heck, Trump was just a symptom. The problem are the voters.

Tis not deflection.
I criticized your prejudicial view that one Republican
who lied about his background typifies the whole
party, & is the problem with it.
Which is not what I've done. What I have condemned as both vile and atypical is the poverty of integrity displayed in by the GOP in the Trump and post-Trump era, and I've noted -- correctly I believe -- that today's GOP is the least likely to allow a vote on Santos.

Do you believe that fabricated backgrounds
is the problem? Or just that Republicans
campaign with the usual manipulations?
This is wrong headed.
Democrats use manipulation too, just as
effectively as the opposition...which is why
the parties regularly swap power back & forth.
Looking at recent elections, both Hillary &
Biden had skeletons hidden in their closet,
& hoodwinked their party into ignoring them,
eg, hawkish, civil liberty averse.

The campaign process is indeed a mess.
I lay responsibility for this at voters' feet.
But the real problem is what the winners
of elections do while they're in office.
