"When all religious faith in lies has waned, it is because man has become closer to himself and farther from 'God'; closer to the 'Devil'."-Anton LaVey

The reptilian brain, is this the true self? The devil we carry within us?
Unmitigated carnal desire?

The devil on our shoulder, tempting us through desire. Invading our conscious thoughts.
Of course it is wrong to give into the animal that we are. Is it?

Is Satanism is an atheistic belief that makes peace with with Satan?

Peace is peace. Does it matter whether we find it with the Id or the Superego?

In the original story of the fall of Satan, there was a war. Satan and his following (1/3 of the angel populace) were banished to hell following their defeat, and everything was okay again. But doesn't anything there seem strange to you? Satan, the most evil being ever to have existed, managed to achieve a 1/3 minority despite running in opposition of the all-powerful creator of the universe. He must have had a hell of a case. Allowing for the individuals who remained loyal due to closely-held principles of loyalty or a desire to maintain the status quo/fear of change, it could easily be argued that a majority of the angels actually sympathized Kodi nox with Satan’s cause.

"What takes place according to nature is not sinful; sin always involves man’s deliberate choice. It is not a sin to eat; it is a sin to eat without gratitude, and not in an orderly and restrained manner such as will enable the body to be kept alive without inducing evil thoughts. It is not a sin to use one’s eyes with purity; it is a sin to look with envy, arrogance and insatiable desire. It is a sin to listen not peacefully, but angrily; it is a sin to guide the tongue, not towards thanksgiving and prayer, but towards backbiting; it is a sin to- employ the hands, not for acts of compassion, but for murders and robberies. And thus every part of the body sins when by man’s own choice it performs not good but evil acts, contrary to God’s will." (ps. St. Anthony the Great, Philokalia vol. I)

How would you like to be cooped up in church for eternity?

Satan yelled he couldn't stand it no more and jumped out of the window with 1/3 of all angels in heaven. From all accounts ran into the woods and had cigarettes and drank beer like HS'rs after classes and they all said, " God dammit we gotta do something"!

I do not view Satan as an adversary of God, or one who ever even rebelled. I view Satan as a loyal angel fulfilling a divine purpose, by testing human moralities, existing as an obstacle in our hearts meant to be overcome.
