Science and Religion not compatible.

God IS the natural explanation.

Too many things point to God, that is why we have firm evidence.

Science points towards God.
Logic points towards God.
The world religions point towards God.
The MESSENGERS that were sent point towards God.
The BOOKS that were revealed to the messengers point towards God.
Scientists and philosophers point towards God.
The miraculous dreams that predict the future etc point towards God.
The signs that are sent down all point towards God.
The miracles that have been created along with this universe and Earth point towards God.

Now next time someone calls us religious folks 'crazy' for believing in a God, think again. The entire universe points towards the Almighty Creator.
You forgot the compass...

No joke.
You forgot the compass.

God is not present anywhere in this universe, it is impossible for the compass to point towards God, since God is not situated in any given position. God cannot be contained, nor can he be supported.

InformedIgnorance

Do you 'know' or believe?
OurCreed, I find it interesting that you note that the support of people (scientists and philosophers) is in some way a support for the validity of your concept, however can I ask you in the hypothetical, if all of those people were killed before they learned of god, would it undermine the validity of your claim? If every single being were an atheist, would it mean that the concept of a god would be less valid? I would argue it would not; does that not mean that the non existence of people supporting the position has not detracted from the position's validity and that the reverse might also be true - that were people to support such a claim it does not make it more valid - the support of people is not a valid argument for it's accuracy.

I would also suggest that in a thread like 'science and religion are not compatible' merely asserting (rather than demonstrating) that logic and science point towards god and that miracles are reported to have happened does nothing but undermine your argument.

It is not any fault of mine that you are unable/unwilling to see how a compass perfectly fits into your list.

You speak a lot for this God of yours.

I enjoy the comic relief from the faithful who in one thread will claim God can never be understood but will conveniently move goal posts in defense of their God to deflect probing questions.

Where am I implying that God can never be understood?

Yet there are alternative explantions for all these. You need to show evidence that supports your supernatural one.

Almost all of your list fails if one realises that religion is just errors carried over from the times of humanity's ignorance.

Cannot discuss with those who have sealed hearts.

I disagree.

Science and religion, properly viewed, are eminently compatible!

Science explains the "how" of things, while religion explains the "Who" and "Why."

Each has its proper role to play, and both are important:

Science without religion is gross materialism: bigger and better nukes.
Religion without science is superstition and witch-burning.

And the fastest way to get into trouble is to try to use either one in the place properly belonging to the other!

Peace, :)

Who created the creator? The only reason u believe us coz Quran say so...

I find it ammusing when religios ppl laugh when scientist put the theory of something ( universe) came out of nothing but then go on and say creator created the world...they where did creator came from...
Nothing ?

Ridicule what you don't understand. That is a pretty popular approach for those who fear novel information. Nobody wants to look ignorant, so the truly ignorant have to work twice as hard to look knowledgeable. When you really know nothing at all, your only options are to educate yourself or ridicule the educated.

Excuse my liberty in dragging multiple years of theist arguments into yours.

It concerns me how often (you will see before long on here) Christians and Muslims in particular attribute human characteristics to their God.

The contradiction is between objective reality and subjective fairy tales. Science will exist as long as there are people who are driven to know the truth. Religion will exist as long as there are people willing to believe what they are told.
