Lord Kelvin started a version of this at the University of Glasgow in 1890 involving a block of pitch flowing down a wooden slide. As far as I know, that experiment is still running too.

If we could say when that would happen with any precision, I'd consider making a stop in Queensland on my next vacation.

As for the awesomeness of the experiment, I guess I'm not geeky enough to understand why it's so cool. I kind of wish I was more of a geek..

I say scrap the experiment and start working on recreating the dinosaurs.

Perhaps all universities should try it.....

Glass is a super cooled fluid that has not crystallised.
Some say it flows some that it does not.
A drip experiment over several millions years would prove it ......
