^ It does, science deals with everything materialistic and its properties. If science cant prove it what can? The bible controls peoples lives, science in a way liberates them to see the world through facts, not folklore.
Science offers probable theory when there is limited evidence. You can think of science as 'enlightenment' however if there were a theity then if he/she/it/them wanted to remain anonymouse and undiscovered then surely he/she/it/they would be capable of such a feat. Maybe, maybe not. We don't *know*.
This is the problem with trying to play one theory off against the other. I am atheist because I think that science in the area of existence makes far more sense than the religious solution. However, had I been brought up in a religious household to pick one example I might well have come to a different conclusion. There is no right or wrong except in the mind.
