Whether state court rulings on state legislature approved laws for federal elections ultimately favors Republicans or Democrats is not really known, is it? Are you in favor of

As for the actual result of the map (according to the article)...

a newly-reconstituted North Carolina Supreme Court reheard the case this year and reversed its decision in favor of the defenders of the Republican-drawn map

If I read that right, then it means that the Republican-drawn map was ultimately found to be proper (not a gerrymander) in the eyes of the court.
This means that North Carolina will use the Republican-drawn map in the next federal election (2024).

This means... ?rejoice? ... ?thankfully?

I don't think ANY legislature's rulings should be beyond judicial review, otherwise they could pass any unconstitutional laws they wished.

Hmm, maybe read your articles fully before posting and quoting them?
To quote the article that you linked in your OP:

What you missed was that the Supreme Court decision upholds that the state court can rule on the validity of the map. The USSC did not strike down the Republican redistricting of NC.

It's "interesting" that so many states in the "Bible Belt" are so willing to discriminate against blacks, Latinos, and young voters by trying to keep them from voting and/or using gerrymandering. Apparently, honesty isn't taught in many or even most of their churches.
